This is one of the best damn comic book stores, period! They have a knowledgeable, and sometimes moody staff, plenty of new releases to choose from, tons of back issues, and a slew of pop culture merchandise from yesterday and today. This is one of those rare comic book shops where comic book readers can easily spend hours looking through the rooms, yes ROOMS, of back issues, through the shelves of toys and models, and still not see everything! This is the place where Richmond VA comic book fans call home! i sadly no longer live in the Richmond area, but i compare every comic book shop i have ever been into to STORIES. And sadly i have yet to find a comic book shop that can compare to the unique experience that is STORIES COMICS.

Stories has 3 locations and the forest Hill one is my favorite due to their size and inventory. For back issues and selection, this is the best comic store in Richmond. I'm at this location often and never have had a bad experience contrary to the customer service complaints. I've visited many comic stores and have learned that you shouldn't expect to be waited on hand and foot. Many of their customers are regulars and don't need the extra guidance. Many of these complaints are from individuals who have expected a retail experience rather than a specialty shop such as it is. I don't need fluff and or to be bothered by overly attentive salespeople. I want selection of back issues, collectibles, and trades in an organized fashion and this place delivers. Thanks stories for being around for so many years.

I spend quite a bit of money in this place and today I was in there and purchased 20 dollars worth of old "Marvel Magazines" (3) and they are just a tad larger than the normal size comics so the bags and backers they have out obviously aren't gonna work for that. I asked if they had the backers and sleeves for the magazine sizes and was handed a pack of 100ct backers and another of 100ct sleeves...LOL...I only needed 2...and as much as I love contributing to the local guys...I am not buying 100 of something I only need 2 of...I kinda felt like with as much money as I spend they could have found a way to accommodate my needs...i get that they dont want 98 of them sitting around either...but i am sure something coulda been done...i do love this place...and the staff are cool people...

My Grandfather and I entered the store and order a copy of the Infinity Gauntlet graphic novel, I wanted to catch up on the story before the long awaited film comes out. Where the store is abundant with comics, it is lacking in customer service. We never heard again from this place after leaving our number. We decided to go back after about a month of no word form the place. (We were told it would arrive in 2 weeks) We asked the lady at the counter if the book had arrived yet and that we hadn't received a call. In which the lady replied in an incredibly rude manner, "Well have we called you?" so to hell with this place. Abundant in comics yes, but maybe they should get some customer service as well.

Best comic book store in Richmond! Huge selection of old and new comics, action figures, and posters. The only issue is the staff isn't very welcoming, but if you go up and ask them they'll help you, you just have to take the initiative.

I have been going to this store since I was in elementary school love this place went in today to find some stuff. upon entering no greeting two female workers walked by both several times had to stand in front of one and stare at her for her to notice me. although she did answer my question and tell me where I could find the item when I came back with my hands empty I must have been invisible again she did not ask me if I found it or needed more help. I walked around the store another 20 mins or so still no one noticed me I then stood in front of the main comics register and looked at the items behind the counter for awhile. STILL no hello how are you can I help you with something...... worst experience ever in a business. but since I grew up in this store I will be back but I will not be smiling. I use to love going in this store as a child spent hours each week and purchased things. now that im older I would like to get some of my childhood back.... but walking in the store today was a real bummer it ruined the rest of my day.

Great selection if your willing to get dirty as the floor is disgusting and dirty. I agree the blonde short haired associate is by far the rudest unprofessional person I've encountered. The location is pretty sketch lock your doors. On one visit a staff member replied "All new comics are so crappy I don't know why you would buy them". This place needs new mgmt but gauging on how many times I've dealt with rude staff, they don't care. Great product sadly the ownership and staff get a 0 out of 5. Serious collector 20+ years.
