Sometimes, as a floral designer, the flowers come together as though they were meant to be together. It's like they just find their place together. Making Stephanie's bridal bouquet was one of those times. Let me show you a little more.

I LOVE when I get to work with couples who I already know! Brittany and Jordan work with my husband, Chad, and they're a lot of fun. Both are geeky in the sense that they love superhero movies and comic books...and so do we. We've had a lot of fun hanging out with them, dissecting every last move of a Marvel or DC hero. So when they finally got engaged and we started talking wedding flowers, I was pretty excited!

When the fall months strike, I usually feel two things simultaneously:
1) Incredible sadness that summer is on it's way out.
2) Energized excitement for buying school supplies (a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils, anyone?) and warmth.

I can dig a fall colour palette, when it's done well -- you know, mature tones of ochre, gold, and rust, and not Crayola oranges and yellows -- but when Maureen contacted me just a few short weeks before their fall wedding, with a request for simple, all-white blooms, I was excited!

Jessica and Jason had a sweet wedding at Bridges Golf Course, and I worked with a light, airy palette of blush, white, and pale blue. Jessica was pretty open to what flowers I used, and seeing as they got married in May, I chose to use peonies (obviously), locally grown double tulips, sweet William, delphinium, spray roses, campanula, and per Jessica's request, baby's breath!

If you like fluffy, ruffled flowers (like peonies, ranunculus, and stock), then springtime is totally when you should get married. That made May the ideal month for Elena and Jeremy's romantic spring wedding at the WAG. Seriously. Take a look at the fluffy dream cloud that was Elena's bridal bouquet and the floral runner I created for the head table!

Sometimes, intimate weddings are my favourite. Couples often have more time to pay attention to the details that will make their guests feel welcome and cherished. S & E's intimate wedding at Qualico Family Centre last summer was a beautiful one!

The classic touches that Tiffany and Quinn chose were perfect - a ceremony in a beautiful, old church, dapper bow ties for the gents, and a champagne tower to end the night!
