Having recently found out about the removal of the founder, Michael Halbreich, and back bone manager, Dant Danner, the company has done a 360. I had the pleasure of working for Stoddards in Douglasville and experienced a uniquely wonderful store unlike any other. As the company has grown and Atlanta opened, it has evolved into something that was never envisioned. Being an instructor and sales person, I enthusiastically got on board with Stoddards because of it's story. Stoddards was opened because of Michael's passion for firearms and people. He wanted to offer something special to the industry and give people a warm atmosphere when they set foot in his store. Being a female in a male dominated industry, I quickly became part of something great. I could relate to uninviting experiences that new shooters, females, and others have had. That's what separated Stoddards. Now, it's just a gun store if that. To my understanding, the general manager in Atlanta is from Home Depot and couldn't care less about guns. The store is no longer geared toward seasoned and upcoming gun people. If you care where your money goes, take it to a business that deserves it. If you're willing to drive, you can even go to Georgia Gun Club in Buford; there is a 100 yard indoor range which is pretty cool. Seeing something so great rapidly deteriorate is very sad. Unfortunately, it will never even reach a fraction of the potential it had.

Going to Stoddard's was a great experience right from the start. The facility is clean, fresh and up to date. After walking in, my wife and i were promptly greeted and offered assistance. We then went over to browse the wide selection they offered. Jake was the representative who assisted us and he was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. His customer service was next to none. There was no pressure to buy or any question dodging. He was glad to answer all our questions and show us a few Handguns. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a range or to make some new purchases. See Jake ... you won't be disappointed.

On February 8, 2015, my 2 sisters and daughter and I went to the Stoddard’s in Douglasville, GA. To purchase out first fire arm. Our salesperson was Frank; I must say he was the most personable and patience salesperson and very knowledgeable. He understood, we were novices and needed help. After selecting which fire arms we each wanted, which were all different from each other; Frank showed us how to operate them and helped us select the correct amino, by explaining the different kind and what affect they would have. The entire was pleasant and we will be back for our training and would recommend Stoddard’s to friends and family.

It's what I would imagine a shooting range would look like in Milan Italy. From the moment you walk in, it feels clean lined, very modern, and full of some beautiful guns. The range is highly automated, professional and fun. We shot semi-automatic rifles and some slick baretta hand guns. You can bring your own or use theirs. Cool retail store and plenty of places to chill. The staff makes it though. Smart and patient folks that want to really focus on education. My thought is that it will draw a whole new audience to be comfortable with guns and gun use. Well thought through idea. And given it's right in the middle of town - near Atlantic Station, really accessible. Awesome place.

I went to the new location in downtown Atlanta and I had a great experience. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. They answered my questions patiently and with a great deal of enthusiasm. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, especially beginners (like myself) who may feel self conscious about your level of knowledge. Stop reading reviews and go check them out!

Went there with a handful of guns & rifles today. First issue is that there are no tables or any other surface to put stuff on. So myself and other shooters had our cases and targets and extra guns on the floor around and behind us. I ended up putting a couple guns into the booth next to mine, I am sure that I could have got kicked out for handling guns across booths, but I literally had nowhere else to put them. I already know the reason for this, if there was a long bench behind us to put our stuff on people would be tempted to handle guns & load there, which would be unacceptable! However I shot a lot at another range in another place (nameless) that did have a long table against the back wall and no one ever tried to load or handle guns there, so it was not a problem! The other issue I have is that there was no way to clean up my spent ammo. Maybe patrons are not required to clean up after themselves which is nice, but when you are there firing off a hundred rounds or so the spent shells become a hazard under your feet. I kept worrying that I am going to roll on some ammo and fall flat on my back with my AR-15 spitting rounds at the ceiling! I give them 4 stars because those are just my personal issues, maybe these things would not bother someone else. Also if I just went there with my carry handgun to shoot a couple boxes of ammo those things would not be an issue. Good clean store with friendly staff.
