Very interesting, and slightly disturbing in some cases, to see what is the most Googled item in each country.

Why we got fatter during the fat free, low fat, food boom. I've said all along, eat your fats!
In the 1970s, the U.S. Dietary Goals advised Americans to cut back on fat and eat more carbs to lower the risk of heart disease. But some experts say this high-carb, low-fat diet helped fuel obesity.

Beautiful! I'm starting to think that the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge is the most item in photographs on Google+ 😄

Recently, San Francisco was in the spotlight for toast. Specifically, the prices associated with an order of a slice of toast. One might think this originated with a hipster / artisanal movement. What's surprising, is that it did not. It began with Giulietta Carrelli, who has Schizophrenic Affective Disorder - part schizophrenia, part bipolarity - that afflicts her with debilitating psychotic episodes lasting days, weeks, and even months. For anyone who has been affected by mental illness, this story is a story of hope and joy. It's about 18 minutes long, and worth every minute. As you listen, you'll wonder how does toast have anything to do with mental illness.

John Gravois tells the story of a potentially annoying San Francisco food trend: artisanal toast. John explains how, in fact, the trend's origins are very down to earth, and more heroic than annoying. John wrote a version of this story for Pacific Standard magazine, where he is an editor. Hey, Yourself,+Stirling Spencer ! So much "artisal" this and that. Even as a Chef I find the trends a bit much at times. This, though, was uplifting as opposed to another foolish trend. Be sure to report back after your visit! I'd love to hear about the atmosphere in this wee establishment! XD

Life from a STIRLING point of view

If I had made all this ... we would have definitely had more than 5 senses, to take it all in ... and the Earth's rings would have put Saturn's to shame!

Living in San Francisco, CA

Originally from Carrizozo, New Mexico ... the absolute middle of nowhere.

All pictures I take are with my Android Phone. When I'm not taking pictures, I'm skiing, running, working-out, exploring, traveling.

This car wash is so good, it's worth the drive from San Francisco!!! They go the extra mile without even asking, like washing floor mats and thoroughly cleaning the inside of your vehicle.

We purchased the Easy Breather Latex Mattress from Nest Bedding. This is the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on. In addition, it keeps you cool at night if you are a warm sleeper. And it's made in the USA. In addition, we purchased their our sheets, pillows and duvet cover from Nest Bedding. I am super impressed with the organic wool comforter as it regulates your body temperature at night. You'd think it would make you hot, it actually keeps your body temperature normal. The service from Nest Bedding was exceptional. John is super knowledgeable and great to work with.

As juice shops go...This one is the best! Cold pressed, off-site. Highest quality ingredients. This isn't a "jamba-juice"...this is the really thing, with style to match.

I can't believe I'm having to write this review. I do not like writing bad reviews, especially for a company that obviously has a stellar reputation.  However, my experience with Carly & Dogstar was horrible. I contacted Carly, via email to enroll my dog with Dogstar. She quickly responded via email. When I responded back to her, answering her questions, I didn't hear back from her. So a week later I re-sent a follow-up email asking about next steps. She apologized for not getting back to me and said my email "got buried in her inbox". At that point we agreed to set up an evaluation meeting for my dog 2 weeks from the date. When the date was approaching, I sent an email confirming the date for the evaluation / introduction. I never heard back. I followed up with another email, and never heard back. By this time, our agreed meeting time had passed. I then called and left Carly / Dogstar a message and no one returned my call. In my phone message I even asked, "if you aren't taking new clients anymore, could you just give me the courtesy of letting me know so I can make other arrangements". No one returned my call. I can't make heads or tails of this whole situation. The reviews of Dogstar on Yelp are fantastic. It just makes no sense.  A successful business wouldn't treat potential customers like this. Just on a common curtesy level, this was a very disappointing experience.

Surprisingly okay / Good... If you are looking for something quick to eat, that is delicious and prepared with high quality ingredients, I'd highly recommend Split Bread. I think it's the best place to eat around the Metreon. Downfalls are their fries are small in size...it's like they are all broken in half. It's a little pricey for what you get. And the service can be spotty.
