Kwamie Liv - Follow You...

It's #musicmonday , right? I haven't posted musical updates for a long while, but this track from Danish/Zambian Kwamie Liv in coorperation with producer Baby Duka, really caught my ears. Yes, I'm slow, the track is half a year old, and you might have heard it long time ago?... But it's new to me! :-) Her music is dangerouly close to R&B, but sounds really cool (I don't like R&B). The "Lost In The Girl" EP featuring this track is really REALLY great :-) ...

Strange scenery...

A strange looking scenery on Iceland. You might think it looks artificial, like cut-out things put on a grey piece of carton? It's not. Actually it's a photo almost untouched straight out of the camera.
The place is a muddy lake in front of a glacier with floating icebergs, shot from a sightseeing flight.

I've seen a lot of nice fascinating timelapse videos, but this one really pushes the genre!...

Super Trippy Abstract Time-Lapse Covers Everything from Riots to Roadkill

Riots, wildfires, decaying roadkill, abandoned houses turned into giant canvases; these are just a few of the things you'll see in what must be one of the strangest time-lapses we've ever run across.
There are times where words don’t do a piece of artwork justice. Such is the case with Circle of Abstract Ritual: a trippy, creepy and downright weird time

Acrophobia...

Peru 2011. A look down to Machu Picchu in the middle of the photo and Urubamba River to the right. I was trying to climb Cerro Machu Picchu next to the famous Inca ruins, but my fear of heights stopped me getting past this plateau. I don't know how close to the top I was, but to continue I would have had to take the steps seen left behind the girl. Urghhh, too scary for me. Of course the girl continued. I did not make any impression on her...

Bonus-info: Machu Picchu is located 2,430 metres above sea level, but are far from highest remains from the Incas. In fact Cusco, the old capital of the Inca Empire, is located 3400 meters above sea level. But Machu Picchu was well hidden and kept secret by the Incas. The Spanish conquistadors never found it.

Thanks +Dick Whitlock and +Morkel Erasmus. It has never been one of my photos to get most attention, but I like the "subdued" feeling in it.

First day out with my new 7D Mark II...

I have just replaced my 6 years old Canon EOS 50D with the new EOS 7D Mark II, and this Sunday was the first day out with my new "cannon". I choose the Hubertusjagt, a traditional horse race in Dyrehaven, as a nice action event to - well - get my feets wet... I had not had time to read the camera manual or do personal configurations of the camera, but immediately got some fun at the jumps in Ulvedalene shooting 10 frames per second. I think I got a lot of nice action shots there, and I might post some of these another day. But the real big surprise to me came later at the water basin, Magasindammen. The popular wet spot where horses jump into the water was totally crowded when I arrived, and I had no choice but to use my camera over the head from long distance with live-view and a 70-300mm telezoom attached. I could hardly see the camera display in the sun, so I was shooting half-blind, and I had no idea of what AF-configuration I was shooting with on my new camera. But I must have been shooting in some "Live View servo mode" using the cameras "dual pixel technology" for tracking, because pretty much every shot had at least one rider sharp. The posted photo is an approx. 1/4th crop of the original shot, and if I take a little time playing more with crops I think I have a lot more keepers like this. Some say you should always credit the photographer, not the tool. But in this case it might honestly be 50-50...

I was shooting RAW+JPG, but since my favorite RAW processing software is not yet updated for the new camera, this edit is based on the JPG-version.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II, EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM @ 207mm, 1/1600s, f/5.6, 800 ISO, heavy cropped.

Story

Music listener, lazy hobby photographer and IT nerd
Introduction
Copenhagen/Denmark.

Music, photography, photoshop, football (soccer), web development, Android development and the IT/Web world in general are some of my interests or hobbies. But my most dominant/visible interest on the web, is probably photography...

I like photos large - I post photos large...

Main site for storing my photos are my Flickr gallery. On Flickr I upload everything I want to keep. But since I'm both perfectionist and lazy at the same time, and generally want to upload everything from a big "event" (like for example a travel) in one batch on Flickr, I'm often very slow posting stuff there. It takes time before I have found the time to select, tag and edit all the photos I want to upload and keep. As I'm writing this, I actually think I'm 4 years behind posting photos from my travels on Flickr:-/... But on Google+ I will probably focus on "previews" of stuff not posted on Flickr yet, plus some of the best of my older/other photography.

Photography is entirely a hobby for me, and if you're interested in using a photo of mine somewhere, most of my public photos are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution license. But check for license on each photo individually you might want to use (For photos on Google+, I think you need to look up the photos in my Picasa webgallery to find license information?). Also you might find the G+ photos in higher (full) resolution in my Flickr gallery - if posted yet, of course;-)

Some non-important nerdy photography gear facts: Current cameras are a Canon EOS 50D DSLR and a Canon PowerShot G12 compact. Lenses for the DSLR are EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, EF-S 15-85mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM, EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM Macro and a Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye.

How do I use Google+ vs. Facebook vs. Flickr vs. my blog?
- Flickr is where I currently intend to store all the photos I want to keep. I also to some degree use Flickr-groups to network and discuss photo-related stuff. But for the time being Google+ is dominating the network/discussing thing...
- Google+ is my current "interest networking place". I use this as a blogging-like tool, posting my latest/best photos or posting texts and links about things I'm interested in. A lot of stuff I post on G+, I would f.ex. never post on Facebook because this would just bore my friends that doesn't share the same interests as me:-)
- Facebook I use almost solely as a place to keep in touch with friends. This is the place for "casual updates". I try to avoid being too nerdy here, and generally only connects with people I know personally (though, there's a few I've never meet in real life among my contacts;-)).
- Rockland, my weblog I use very similar to my Google+ profile. But on Rockland I post in Danish and primary targeted people in Denmark.

I'm a Dane, living in Copenhagen on Amager. Past residences includes Virum, Østerbro and Hvidovre (Rebæk Søpark Kollegiet). Working as an IT Developer in Danske Bank.

An easy URL for my Google+ profile is:

http://www.rockland.dk/+

Working RSS feed with my public Google+ postings was last time I checked:

http://gplusrss.com/rss/feed/df0b25ca98e6df021ce028ae88c07dfd5075d5d4b6f40

(Have tried several services for this, and they have all died after some time - So planning to construct my own G+ RSS feed some day)
