30 seconds timelapse of view from the new Inderhavnsbroen bridge...

Yes, I have been a rare guest here on G+ lately. Service is not forgotten, but just don't get much attention at the moment. But to show I'm still kinda active, here's my very first attempt in the #timelapse genre. I used an Astro (http://orderastro.com/) which I got from a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign a few years ago, but haven't actually used until now (although it has been in my photobag on numerous trips and other occasions). It's a smart little device to control the camera for timelapse recording including a slow rotation of the camera during the shooting.

My first attempts is not without beginner mistakes. In this case I had forgotten to turn off bracketing in the camera, causing a third of the photos to be underexposed by 2 steps and another third to be overexposed by 2 steps. But I think I was able to adjust the photos to very much same general level in Camera Raw. However, there's some flicker in the highlights, especially the sky to the left at the beginning of the video. That's because every third image (the overexposed ones) has burned-out highlights.

The Astro was configured to shot one photo per second in 15 minutes while the camera slowly rotated (as I recall) 60 degrees. Camera was shooting raw files with manual exposure and manual focus [But because I had forgotten to turn off bracketing, the shutter speed still varied even though I was shooting in manual mode]. Color temperature was set to auto, but that is easily made consistent in the post-processing. The photos was processed into a 30 frames/second video in Photoshop CC.

Vintage Fiat 500 sightseeing in Rome...

Sightseeing #selfie in #Rome with nephew, niece, (the other) sister... and a #fisheye lens on the camera.

Great fun "cruising" around in Rome in a real classic vintage #Fiat500 .

Camera with fisheye lens held up through roof with my two "selfiesticks"... It's the old very small vintage Fiat 500 - the fisheye lens makes the cabin appear larger than it really is. Me, nephew, niece and (the other) sister. Note-to-self: Never take selfies with a fisheye lens if you have a big nose...

You might not recognize it immediately. There's hardly anything left of the original "I'm a Barbie Girl" refrain... But Julie Aagaard's version of this #Aqua #pop #classic is some absolute #fantastic #dark #synthpop ...

Less Than by Marriages...

#musicmonday

The "Salome" album from US-band "Marriages", is probably my most listened album the last two months. It's a pretty unknown band - well, at least in Denmark. I can't remember ever read about or listened to the LA-based band in the Danish medias. This is a live recording of a song from their 2015 album, which I believe is also their album-debut. A great rock album, and a band to keep an eye on in the future?...

Birdhouse skaters...

Team Birdhouse skaters on European Vacation 2015 Tour visited Fælledparken Skatepark a week ago. If you are into this skater-world, names like Tony Hawk, Kevin Staab, Nicky Guerrero and Lizzie Armanto might ring a bell? I'm not though. I just wouldn't miss the change to play with some #actionphotography... :-)

Stig's Flickr Fixr...

In frustration over latest years Flickr-design almost only being focused on people's latest uploads, and an exclusion of uploads from before March 2012, when +Flickr in Spring 2012 added new larger-than-1024px-wide browsing-sizes of photos, I have created Stig's Flickr Fixr - A "userscript" for the desktop browser, which on-the-fly changes the design and functionality of #Flickr in a way that tries to satisfy my needs to see older photos large and have visible and fast access to photographers' albums, teasing photographers' work outside their very latest uploads (Phew, that was a couple of long sentences)...

The two most important features of the script are:

1) Adding an Album-column directly on photographers' photostream pages.
2) On photopages ("normal" or "lightbox" mode), when a photo is only available in browsing-sizes up to 1024px wide, first up-scale the photo to fill browser-window if browser-window has room for larger size. If up-scaled, secondly look for availability of originally uploaded version of photo and - if possible - replace displayed version with this for optimal quality and sharpness.

There are a couple of other features too. Read the short Danish introduction to the tool on

http://www.rockland.dk/show/?post=400

or read the more complete English presentation in the Flickr Hacks forum:

https://www.flickr.com/groups/flickrhacks/discuss/72157655601688753/

Or if I have sold it to you already,  simple go directly to Greasy Fork and install Stig's Flickr Fixr:

https://greasyfork.org/scripts/12008-stig-s-flickr-fixr

(Script requires a browser-extension for handling userscripts, like for example Greasemonkey for Firefox, Tampermonkey for Google Chrome or Violentmonkey for Opera)

Thanks +Flickr :-)

A shoal of Red Piranhas from a little set of photos I took back in 2013 shortly after the opening of the new Danish National Aquarium, +Den Blå Planet. However I haven't posted them on Flickr before this weekend.

Virtual Reality?...

Due to construction of a new metro line, Kongens Nytorv (King's New Square) in #Copenhagen has been one big construction site hidden behind closed fence since (approx?) 2010. But now an artist has decided to decorate the fence with a reminder to how the city square used to look - with a little twist...

The new station - and metro circleline - is expected to be ready in 2019.

Introduction
Copenhagen/Denmark.

Music, photography, Photoshop, football (soccer), web development, Android development and the IT/Web world in general are some of my interests or hobbies. But my most dominant/visible interest on the web, is probably photography...

I like photos large - I post photos large...

Main site for storing my photos are meant to be my Flickr gallery. On Flickr I intend to upload everything I want to keep. But since I'm both perfectionist and lazy at the same time, and generally want to upload everything from a big "event" (like for example a travel) in one batch on Flickr, I'm often very slow posting stuff there. It takes time before I have found the time to select, tag and edit all the photos I want to upload and keep. As I'm writing this, I actually think I'm 4 years behind posting photos from my travels on Flickr:-/... But on Google+ I will probably focus on "previews" of stuff not posted on Flickr yet, plus some of the best of my older/other photography.

Photography is entirely a hobby for me, and if you're interested in using a photo of mine somewhere, most of my public photos are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution license. But check for license on each photo individually you might want to use (For photos on Google+, I think you need to look up the photos in my Picasa webgallery to find license information?). Also you might find the G+ photos in higher (full) resolution in my Flickr gallery - if posted yet, of course;-)

How do I use Google+ vs. Facebook vs. Flickr vs. my blog?
- Flickr is where I currently intend to store all the photos I want to keep. I also to some degree use Flickr-groups to network and discuss photo-related stuff. But for the time being Google+ is dominating the network/discussing thing...
- Google+ is my current "interest networking place". I use this as a blogging-like tool, posting my latest/best photos or posting texts and links about things I'm interested in. A lot of stuff I post on G+, I would f.ex. never post on Facebook because this would just bore my friends that doesn't share the same interests as me:-)
- Facebook I use almost solely as a place to keep in touch with friends. This is the place for "casual updates". I try to avoid being too nerdy here, and generally only connects with people I know personally (though, there's a few I've never meet in real life among my contacts;-)).
- Rockland, my weblog I use very similar to my Google+ profile. But on Rockland I post in Danish and primary targeted people in Denmark.

I'm a Dane, living in Copenhagen on Amager. Past residences includes Virum, Østerbro and Hvidovre (Rebæk Søpark Kollegiet). Working as an IT Developer in Danske Bank.

An easy URL for my Google+ profile is:

http://www.rockland.dk/+

A working RSS feed with my public Google+ postings was last time I checked:

http://gplusrss.com/rss/feed/df0b25ca98e6df021ce028ae88c07dfd5075d5d4b6f40

(Have tried several services for this, and they have all died after some time - So planning to construct my own G+ RSS feed some day)
