This has to be the most hysterical product listing I've seen on eBay in a long time. The Keypers toys are a line from the 80s that were all about secret compartments that were locked with a key to hold kids' special treasures. Matching little critters would stow the key safely away for you in hidden compartments. Now when I looked at this ad, I thought the remote was just a strange way of showing the size of the toy. But no--the person who listed this seriously thinks it's designed to hold your TV remote! I can hear the theme to "King of the Hill" playing in the background.

I love watching Tony Stark making things. Can I get a "hell yeah!"?

Hi guys! I'm looking to socialize Bedivere, and I need your help. I am looking for folks willing to come over and visit with us to help get him used to having people around. Your "help" would include things like sitting around and talking, allowing Bedivere to approach you if he wishes, and eventually (if you visit enough for him to get used to you) petting, holding, feeding snacks, etc. Eventually, a couple months down the line, I will also be looking for people who I can bring Bedivere to for travel visits. These would initially be very brief and eventually build up to longer times. If anybody would like to lend a hand, please let me know--I'd like to get him very happy and calm around others! Even if you can only come visit once or twice, it will expose him to someone new which is a good step.

I had to take Bedivere's tank decorations out in order to sanitize them. He hates when I take his branch away. This is how he is reacting:

"Mom."
jumps into the screen lid, making it bang
"MOM."
dances along the glass
"MOM!"
more jumping with lots of loud banging
"MOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOM!!!!!!!!*

Yes, dear, I know you want your branch back, and I know you want attention. You're just going to have to wait a little bit.

I'm going to be running an online-only, play by post roleplaying game. It's set in Victorian London, and based on the White Wolf New World of Darkness tabletop rulebooks. Permitted venues include vampire, werewolf, mage, and changeling. The game will take place on a forum and is designed to be fully accessible on phone or tablet as well as a standard browser. There will be a heavy emphasis on roleplay and character, and the world will be open-ended, with the option to pursue whatever unique goals your character might have. Players will be able to come and go, and XP will be awarded based on participation during a given time period. Want to play? Let me know!

IT WILL BE MINE! Oh yes, it will be mine. I love the tools, I love the research, I love the citations, and just looking at it taught me a ton about how Viking sewing works.

So before I left to do some evening errands, I left the TV on softly for Bedivere. It was set to WQED which was showing a documentary. When I got home, there was a BeeGees concert on and I found Bedivere like this, looking like he'd gone on a bender, passed out, and fell off his log. Guess he's really into disco. Who knew?

Just the idea of any type of being human or animal going on a 'bender' and passing out as a result brings about the uncontrollable giggles.

I'm eagerly awaiting this. I've always felt that Tolkien's translations were his most brilliant work.

I just saw a commercial on the History channel, from a documentary I had recorded on the Dark Ages, that sent me into a complete and utter language geek rage. For the love of the gods, a "hieroglyph" is a character and "hieroglyphic" is a word to describe a language comprised of such characters. THEY ARE NOT CALLED HIEROGLYPHICS!!!!!!

Whew, ok. I'm better now. No, really.

Okay, sure, but I think we can all agree with the History Channel that the hieroglyphs were put there by ancient aliens.
