Then don't forget that this doesn't force providers to share lines they actually own, and that Netflix could still CHOOSE to buy a "fast lane" from Comcast. It's the same scenario, just in different words. No, the smaller companies / consumers won't have an internet speed downgrade... but everyone else will have the chance to get in on more speed.

Regardless - equality is a very silly argument to make, here. The lack of cheap and universal access to broadband internet makes net neutrality a non-issue to many households, in this, a "first world" country. The inequality of poverty is a far greater wrong than netflix being slow.

The end product of this so-called "net neutrality" will likely - in my opinion - only lead to higher internet prices and slower progress in the distribution of broadband internet to poor homes, lower total investment in the broadband industry as a whole, and slower expansion of things like google fiber.

Valentine's Day Guacamole (for your ex)

Here's a simply way to make Guacamole with ingredients from the games room. Can it get any easier than this?

Would you serve this to your ex on Valentine's Day?

Still snowing here too

Welp, it snowed here...again.

I've been up on and off since 5 this morning.

Just gotta get through hump day, and I have a pretty sweet day off. Course, I have to do laundry, but other than that I'm not leaving the house.

But the news says we should be getting up to a high of 32°. Its summer y'all!

Total wipes can wipe my fucking ass!
A music group's anti-piracy system has just sent Google the most staggeringly ridiculous DMCA notices the planet has EVER seen. If you aren't sitting down, please do so now. Remove tight clothing, open a window and get a glass of water. This one is absolutely epic.

Raving mad

In further news, the US House of Representatives has continued their plans to bring about the Apocalypse, passing a bill (on almost exactly party lines) to effectively ban scientists from being on the EPA's scientific advisory board. Under these new rules, anyone who has done research on anything which the board studies is considered to have a conflict of interest, and therefore cannot sit on the board. Fortunately, simply having a financial stake in the matters which the board studies does not constitute a conflict of interest, so the scientific advisory board continues to be open to corporate public affairs officers, demented preachers, or roving madmen off the street.

The bill now proceeds to the Senate, where it has been referred to the Committee on Environment and Public Works. This is the committee chaired by Sen. Inhofe of Oklahoma, author of The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future and other light classics, in which he tells us that because of the existence of God, the "arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is... outrageous." So in all, it's a good year for public affairs officers, demented preachers, and roving madmen off the street in all aspects of our government, and I forecast excellent career opportunities for each of these categories going forward.

h/t +Peter da Silva for the link.
The GOP-dominated House passed a bill Tuesday that effectively prevents scientists who are peer-reviewed experts in their field from advising the EPA.

Horrible service, the waiter was very pushy. They should just make more space instead of corralling everyone into tiny tables. If more space is added, then you can also add you know... Chairs. Ultimately the method of eating seems pointless, since you are forced to stand while putting "fun sized" bites on even smaller bread. The cost isn't worth the hassle.
