Lexington's 64-year-old New Circle Road, now undergoing another round of construction, was supposed to be the solution to Lexington's traffic problems. Now being widened between Versailles and Leestown roads, a project expected to take two years, it may be hard to remember that at one time — when IBM's big plant in North Lexington was new and the line between downtown and suburban Lexington was more firm — New Circle Road was a source of awe to L...

The Webb brothers are exhibit A in how Lexington does not have anyone in the City that actually cares about planning and zoning, or urban development.

The Federal Election Commission is accepting comments until the end of TODAY on a proposed rule that would prohibit the Commission on Presidential Debates from requiring qualified candidates to achieve a polling threshold in order to participate in the presidential debates.

Comments are open until close-of-business today, and filing a "I support the petition" comment is easy, and VERY important.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Click http://sers.fec.gov/fosers/
Click "Submit Comments on Ongoing Rule makings";
Click "add comment" beside "REG 2014-06 Amendment of 11 C.F.R. 110.13(c)";
Scroll down and click "next";
Fill in your contact information and hit "next";
Type "I support the petition" and click "next";
Click "submit".
Make sure and click "submit" again until you get a "confirmation notice".

Please forward the "Instructions" above to activist friends, since the number of comments, not just the substance of individual comments, will impacts the decision of the FEC on its regulation of debates. Our America Initiative has submitted a substantive comment and thanks all libertarians for submitting their "support of the petition".http://ouramericainitiative.tumblr.com/post/105274261659/before-the-federal-election-commission

If you haven't clicked the link above, will you help now please by submitting a comment? Thanks!

An unscheduled supermarket trip that shook the world...
"It wasn’t all the screens, dials, and wonder at NASA that blew up his skirt, it was the unscheduled trip inside a nearby Randall’s location."

And if you're not using Windows or OS X, laugh smugly at the primitive, case-insensitive filesystems.  Ha ha!  Silly people.

A nearly two-year project to widen New Circle Road began Tuesday night. New Circle is being widened from four lanes to six lanes between Leestown and Versailles roads.

I was going to make a pitch for a more complete transportation system in Lexington, with more busses and a couple of streetcars between UK,mall, and downtown... but I really don't want to argue tonight!

Paul just got a job offer in Minneapolis and I'm so happy. I think I will spend this time daydreaming about living near a lightrail instead ;)

On a related note...this video is hilarious: http://www.theonion.com/video/obama-replaces-costly-highspeed-rail-plan-with-hig,18473/
