How do you fancy opening your back door to this one morning? We did it several mornings. And Joni went over the top first! At least our door opens inward or we might have had problems getting out as many people did.
Surely there should be a #snowsunday or something of that nature? Instead of #depthoffieldSunday why not a #depthofsnowSunday ?
She took to it like a ... border collie to sheep herding! Covered in mud at the end of the afternoon, she slept in the car on the way home and was tired for almost 2 days afterwards. Tired, but so happy.
A friend of her breeder's helped us to get her into it and supplied the expertise and the sheep. She said that Joni has a great natural ability.

A walk at low tide along the beach at sunset is enough to take the stresses of the day right out of you. I hope just looking at this will have the same effect. Have a lovely evening everyone, wherever you are.

In the current issue of Canadian Woodworking Magazine there is an article "Canadian Quotes" about me and my work, here, http://digital.canadianwoodworking.com/Vizion5/viewer.aspx?shareKey=ER16H8
You should be able to read that article as a sample if you want.
They built the attached slideshow using my and Ellie's photographs and my thoughts from the article. I think they did a great job of it.
As well there is an article I wrote for them entitled "Turn a Simple Box". If you pick up a copy of the magazine or buy a digital copy you can see all the articles, but some are available to read as samples.
In a previous posting, where we talked about a very cold and snowy walk with Joni, our friend Ursula asked to see a photograph of how she looked at the end of her walk. We were out for 2 hours and the wind was blowing the snow swirling around the fields. Joni never seemed to mind as long as we kept throwing her toy.
So here she is, waiting for you to throw her a blue ball! You can bring Mira along with you, though she might find it a bit cold!

I just had the great experience of spending 3 days with the director /producer Ben Proudfoot from Breakwater Studios, LA along with his cinematographer David Bolen who produced this short video below. They are making a profile of me and my work and that video (about 9 minutes long) will be out in a few weeks. They are a really talented team as you can see by this short. I'm looking forward to seeing the production. It was 3 intense days and a great learning experience to see the process of making a movie.

We had a great (if cold) day in Quebec city in November and this pair was too preoccupied to pay any attention to me (or to the cold). They were on the ramparts looking down over the old city.

Ellie, standing on top of the world.
Carrying her chuck-it launcher and ball and accompanied by our border collie puppy, Joni (who is out of the frame, fetching the ball), she has returned from her journey to the top of the world. Joni needed a complete round trip to begin to be a bit tired. Ellie got there first (to the exhausted part).

Just found out that I was "Maker of the Week" according to the Woodworkers Institute, 2.5 years ago! Wish I had known at the time. :D
Thank you Woodworkers Institute!
- thanks very much, you are right!
Thanks very much, Bill - I'm glad you like it.
- thanks so much. Yes, each of these is a box, measuring maximum height of about 6" or 7" but usually around 3-4 inches. The Medusa (collaborative piece) is about 9" high, and the top does lift off to expose a 'box' with the wearable pendant inside.
Handling (with appropriate care) wouldn't harm it and people keep all sorts of small and special things in these boxes. Baby teeth, engagement ring (for the proposal), jewellery, memories, etc... :D
