So I recently got given a Symmetricom TimeProvider 100 to have a bit of a play with – and was excited to see an ethernet port marked “NTP” on the front. After firing it up and having no luck at all talking to it on this port other than ICMP ping packets,…

Development Troubleshooting  -

Has anyone else noticed the D6653 rebooting randomly after updating to DP4?

Seems to be kinda hot as well....

Not sure if it's something I've done, a bug or a misbehaving app.....

So yeah, I’ve been forced into using SystemD for just about everything now that the entire community has taken the koolaid. I recently had a question where if a ConditionFileIsExecutable fails in the [Unit] section, the logs say that the service was…

+Hamish Taylor never mind that apparently they are hiding error messages to not scare  people.

There is a reason why a say goes like this: Make something idiotproof and the world creates a bigger idiot.

They can't win that race to the bottom, but they are hell bent to try. And dragging Linux with them in the process...

Hi all,

So I've just joined up and downloaded the TFT for the Z3. I'm wondering what the difference is between the D6603 and D6653?

The TFT I downloaded is marked as the D6603 - and I believe it will work ok (just flashing now), but I'm also wondering if there is a different flash for the D6653?

One of my key things is LTE band 28...

Bug Findings  -

My car kit does a phonebook transfer to the head unit which it displays with pictures for dialing / call status.

Recently I've noticed that the pictures displaying are not the correct ones for the contact being displayed - for example I'll have a company logo next to my SO's contact.

Has anyone else seen this?

I've forced a resync between headunit and phone, but still get the incorrect images.

Yes, same incorrect image each time. Have already reset car kit. Only thing I haven't done is to depair and repair the connection.

General Feedback  -

How does one go about reporting bugs in the official release software?

I've upgraded my D6653 with 6.0.1 (Build 23.5.A.0.575) and noticed that using the dialer for IVR menus (press 1 for sales, press 2 for support etc etc) don't work.

You can press the number, you'll hear the tone in the earpiece, but the remote end never receives a DTMF tone.

I figure something like this will need to be fixed on an official release - but no idea on how / where to file this to get it in front of the right eyeballs.

+Telstra - is there any news on when Craigieburn (3064) will get 700MHz LTE coverage?

My PSTN service got cut last week by workers dragging through the new NBN fibre - and Telstra have supplied a 4G USB dongle until we figure out how to resolve the problem - but its actually slower than the ADSL service I was getting.

As the resolution for the PSTN service may be 'dig up the nature strip and across the road', I'm wondering which will come first...

In other news, if you know who I can talk to about what the plan is to restore a phone line, it would be appreciated :\

Has anyone else had problems doing the OTA update on the Sony D6653 for DP4?

I've been trying since I got prompted for the update - but I always end up with the download failing with a 'timeout' error - only to start again from scratch....

Recently I’ve moved the builds for the WD MyNet systems to LEDE. I’ve also started building for more than just the MyNet N750 – and now all ar71xx systems will get a nightly build. The build directories now follow the date of the build, not the revision…

Recently, I’ve been going all out on deploying LDAP and realising how much easier it would have made my life over the years. Fusion Directory has proven to be a good management interface for keeping things in check. That’s the easy part though – now how…

As I’ve been using StartSSL for a long time to secure everything from SMTP / IMAP to this web site, I’ve gathered quite a few certificates. The scene has changed quite a bit these days with Lets Encrypt becoming available with free certs (but limited to…

We got our puppy desexed here. Our puppy came back to us terrified of what was going on around her. For a day or so, any tall male that came near her she went into a full on panic. She eventually calmed down and seemed a little more at home - so we didn't think much more of it at the time. When we took her back to get her stitches removed, she was happy entering the vets offices until saw the vet that did the operation and went into a full panic again. I have no idea what happened during the desexing - but I'm quite sure that this is not the normal reaction that animals should have. Our puppy has been to different vets before (for vaccinations etc) - but has never acted this way before or since. The scar that was left from the stitching was very ugly and the stitching was blotchy and uneven when we got her back. Would certainly not recommend this practice for procedures like this.
