Quite a while ago, I applied to host Flight Radar 24s receiver at my place near Melbourne Airport, Australia (YMML). It started off with the ID F-YMML1 (being the first in Victoria), but a faulty unit saw the handle change to F-YMML4. With it, there was a…

I have to say, I’m having a hard time to get this song out of my mind today. So its my duty to infect everyone else with this earworm.

A comrade has died. I always feel sad when I read about these kinds of things. As yet, the female student pilot from RMIT Flight Training has crashed on her first solo cross country at Millbrook. News coverage – ABC, 7 News. Aviation is an unforgiving and…

Reposting this from elsewhere:
Today is a sad day to be Australian.

Under new laws, any doctors, health care workers, and staff members at the Nauru, Manus Island and other detention centres can be imprisoned for up to 2 years for reporting child abuse, sexual assault or other inhumane acts that happen in these detention centres.

If you don't understand what this means. If you are notice a refugee that you are meant to be looking after in a detention centre being beaten or raped by one of your colleagues and you speak out about it YOU WILL BE FUCKING IMPRISONED FOR IT. LIKE A CRIMINAL.

It’s been a while since my last post – and this one is a doozey. So Bind is one of the most popular DNS servers on the planet. Just about everyone runs it. So when news breaks that a specially crafted request can cause the named process to exit, then a…

Treasurer For Sale*

*Conditions Apply. Not actually for sale, but factually for sale. I've qualified this so Joe Hockey doesn't Sue me for defamation.

Apparently you can't say Joe Hockey's for sale. Maybe he's just for rent.

Last night I made some changes to the build process of the generated images for the WD N600 and N750 routers. Starting from r48362, the following changes are active: The designated_driver_luci repository is enabled by default. This allows people to…

Google always pimps good videos. Here is one. In breathtaking 1080p, its awesome quality to watch. What is it that makes us human? Is it that we love, that we fight ? That we laugh ? Cry ? Our curiosity ? The quest for discovery ? Driven by these…

Some of you may have noticed (but most probably haven’t) that this site is now native IPv6 enabled. Interestingly, I can see some traffic already going to the IPv6 address. If you have any issues, let me know as I’m still getting my head around it all.

I stumbled across this text – which does come from an anonymous source, but seems to be credible enough to have at least somewhat valid information. I removed Google Adsense from my site months ago – simply because I had a feeling that something like this…

We got our puppy desexed here. Our puppy came back to us terrified of what was going on around her. For a day or so, any tall male that came near her she went into a full on panic. She eventually calmed down and seemed a little more at home - so we didn't think much more of it at the time. When we took her back to get her stitches removed, she was happy entering the vets offices until saw the vet that did the operation and went into a full panic again. I have no idea what happened during the desexing - but I'm quite sure that this is not the normal reaction that animals should have. Our puppy has been to different vets before (for vaccinations etc) - but has never acted this way before or since. The scar that was left from the stitching was very ugly and the stitching was blotchy and uneven when we got her back. Would certainly not recommend this practice for procedures like this.
