You may be familiar with AncestryDNA's DNA Circles, which allow you to compare to your kit to matches who share a common ancestor, including people who only match your other matches and don't match you directly. This is help...

Yes.  Louvenia married John Wesley Alston, the son of Martha Winn ( parents William Winn and Nancy Wilkes) and Calvin Alston.  There is a Facebook group for the descendants of William and Nancy.  Their children migrated to Leon County, Texas over the span of a few years after the death of their parents in Mississippi in 1850.  There is also a Davis descendants group.

MyHeritage.com jumps into the Genetic Genealogy pool with its new, FREE DNA Matching Service. Given their track record of quality products and attention to customer needs, I expect very good things from this new service.
Israeli genealogy company MyHeritage.com has been dipping its toes into the genetic genealogy waters for about a year. Last year they started partnerships with both 23andMe and FamilyTreeDNA to offer sales of DNA products th...

The human family tree is getting rewritten, again.  The newest record holder for the oldest sample of human DNA sequenced is causing researchers to reconsider their current theories of human evolution.
New Scientist is reporting a team of archaeologists and geneticists from the Max Planck Institute in Germany have successfully sequenced the oldest sample to date of human DNA. The sample in question comes from a person who ...
