We have a week left to help the Philippines in this effort. There is still a lot of need. Tacloban is still struggling. Jessie has family members that still do not have electricity. Her family remains scattered all over the Philippines. They’ve been in that area for hundreds of years.
I hear stories of people sleeping in tents or worse. Trying to save money to build something nice. They don’t have big dreams because they make $2 day.
I see a lot of mom’s in the Philippines, young mothers that have a child that is well dressed and plump. While mom is very skinny. Mom is going without food.
These are good people. They are not perfect but over all they are very good, very happy people that would help you if they could.
A dollar is enough. There are going to be around 600 people that engage with this circle. Most of you can spare a dollar. Some can’t or won’t carry out financial transactions online and I respect and understand that. Whatever your reasons for not doing it there is no reason to explain.
Just don’t let feeling as if 1 dollar is too little. It’s too small. If all 600 gave a dollar then we’d be very close to building an entire home.
Habitat for Humanity is building homes in the Philippines for about $2700. Now that was the number they came up with three months ago. The amount will have gone down because the dollar’s value has gone up here in the Philippines a lot since then.
That dollar is what many Filipinos work all day for. So if you can and you have the means, please follow this link below. 1 dollar is 45 Pesos. The site only accepts donations in pesos. There is a link on the page to download a form and send in a dollar by mail too.
My goals have already been met. I wanted to make a difference and
WE have made a difference.

With more than $1300 raised thus far and we couldn’t have done without sharing circles!
This is the power of
your social ripple. This is why you can use social media to have an impact. Make it a positive one.
Proof that:
A lot of people doing a little will have a huge impact►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►
May I suggest? Don’t worry about what others do, if you can do your small part. For a lot of us to do a small part it starts with the word “I”.
If you want to donate, I suggest you create an account there first.
http://www.give2habitat.org/member/rustyf/haiyanThat seems to make the process go much faster. Also, 1 dollar is about 45 pesos. The dollar has gone up since I first created that so $10 is now about P450. Honestly, I’ll be thrilled if you donate P45. One person donated P5. I don’t know who you are but thank you very much.
I know that signing up for an account is a pain, I hate it too and usually won’t but sometimes my inconvenience is tiny compared to what the people that lived through this storm have endured.

I visited an evacuation center in Cebu City during December. The people there wanted one thing. They wanted to go home even if there was no home to return too.
I have stayed I touch with some and many have changed their minds and decided to adapt to their new surroundings where work is more likely. That’s what people do. Life will never be the same for millions.
More than 6000 lost their lives. More than a hundred thousand homes destroyed. Millions are displaced and many will never return to their home.
Many others will stay and make do with what they have.
Filipinos are not sitting still in their efforts. In Bogo City, SM Properties has built over 100 new homes for those that lost homes in the Bogo Area. The new village has a name. A family donated some land for the project and it is now known as Yolanda Village.
At least 200 homes will be built at this location. Nearly all of the aid that has come to Bogo City has been from private organizations.
Don’t let people tell you that your money will go to waste. You just have to donate it wisely. Donate it to organizations that do not rely on the government for distribution but do it themselves. Habitat for Humanity is one such organization.
I have setup a page to received donations from those that are will and able. I understand that not everyone is. Two people donated less than a dollar and I was totally happy to get that. Those small amounts may have been very difficult for the people that gave them. In any case, it doesn’t matter.

If you can’t donate, I understand, trust me on this. I do. You can still help. You can help by sharing this circle

This will be the
last circle in our Rebuild the Philippines campaign for Habitat for Humanity as their fund raiser is set to expire at the end of this month.
That doesn’t mean that I won’t return to the Philippines aid in the future. I fully intend to. I’d like to make aid my full time endeavor in the Philippines. If I get the chance to do that, I will. And if I don’t then I’ll try to find a way to make it happen. If it won’t come easy, force it.
I will continue with my
+Ripples of Love campaign though I will take a break from seeking donations in the immediate future, maybe a week. haha.

Other issues on my mind are children that are victims of war. Many uprooted and no home of their own. This includes any part of the world. There is no religion, there is no politics, there is just us helping them. That is an adaptation of an info graphic I saw for Anonymous. I’m interested in learning more about them.
Other issues which I may visit first are
homeless vets in America. We teach these guys to be killers and some of them are very good at it. We send them to wars that most of us don’t think too much about and then they can’t fit back into society when they return.
Yes, some of them may have had a hard time coping to start with. Still, they went
over there. While most American are sitting in their air conditioned offices or at least on the couch Sunday watching TV or fighting with their spouse over what they will watch. Haha
I know of a couple of guys that do a lot of work in this area and are on G+. I may seek their guidance. I’d like to do some kind of hangout but I don’t have a good enough Internet connection for that.
So that’s what’s coming but I’m going to give my awesome circle shares and myself a break first. Probably not a long one. I need it to be honest.

I have setup a new community that I call
Ripples of Lovehttps://plus.google.com/communities/109395586998865573855?hl=en&partnerid=gplp0This community is for those that are interested in helping others. If that fits you, I hope you will join. I don’t plan to send invitations. Maybe if I know this is your kind of activity but for the most part, I won’t send invitations. I also have no plans to make this community a circle. I may but I don’t have any plans to do that.
Join if you are interested in helping others.
I need help with this. When I decided I wanted to use social media to make small difference, circle sharing was the only thing I could think of. If I didn’t share circles, most of you wouldn’t know who I was. So this is who I began this activity. I’m very open to expanding it. That community would be a good place to meet and talk about it.
