For a lot of teachers, the idea of blogging doesn't hold much appeal. It's time consuming, particularly if you're doing it right and digging deep, pondering on each keystroke. You're pushing yourself

With constrained time lines and a filled agenda, how do you allow everyone to contribute? How do you gain more valuable insights from the teachers and staff of your school? Flip it!

You can take a lot more notes with a laptop, but it would seem the pen is still mightiest at cutting through the note-taking clutter.

Introduction
Back in the day...

Served in the U. S. Navy from 1989 - 1998.  Educated in Orlando, Florida at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit, then spent two years as a nuclear power plant prototype instructor at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory.  Enjoyed five adventure-filled years on board the U.S.S. Nevada, a ballistic missile submarine, as a Nuclear Power Plant Machinist Mate and Supervisor.

Since then...

While working as an Educational Technologist, I developed the California Educational Standards Resource Guide - an interface that dynamically links online and tangible educational content of any kind to the California educational standards.

Served as project lead for the California Streaming project - a K-12 educational multimedia interface, providing students and teachers thousands of streaming educational videos in clipped and full-length versions, beautiful images, audio files, podcasts and more.

Helped architect an educational multimedia portal that is currently used by almost a dozen county offices of education, and am currently working on a variety of other educational tools to support the emerging Common Core Standards.

Served as Editor for Technorati.com until December, 2013.  Founder, Just Ones & Zeros.

My days are now spent as an educational portal administrator, web designer, blogger and application analyst.

Social Media Organizer

Co-host and co-founder of Aquathonalong with actress and philanthropist Kirstie Alley.  Aquathon was the first ever Twitter-based 24-hour telethon.  Utilized a variety of social networking tools to develop interest in the event, obtain prizes and run contests.  On July 25, 2009, together with thousands of others, we raised enough to drill two fresh-water wells to serve needy communities in Africa.

Helped organize social media events for Jazz singer Josh Charles' Healing Time project, a project that uses Josh's incredible music to help raise money to help people in New Orleans still living through the after-effects of Hurricane Katrina.

I've also spent some time helping a variety of websites figure out the best way to interact with their clients, and hope to have more opportunities in the future!
