In my long career, I've gone from hearing "how can that guy have that job, and be so young?" to "how can that guy have that job, and be so old?"
I was invited to give a talk at The Speakeasy in Indianapolis this Thursday. Speakeasy is a confederation and co-working space for startups and early stage companies.
I decided that instead of talking about content marketing and #Youtility I would take a look back at how I've managed to found or co-found five multi-million dollar businesses, and the lessons I've learned along the way.
If you're in the Indy/Cincy/Louisville/Columbus area, I'd love to visit with you at the event.
Here are the tips (I'll elaborate on them in a blog post in a week or two):
1. Give Shape to Your Fear
2. Observe Greatness
3. Be a Farmer, not a Hunter
4. If you Can't Find a Nest, Build One
5. Put Down Your Phone and Leave the House
6. The Most Important Word is No
7. Competition is a State of Mind
8. Put Your Aces in Their Places
9. Always be Useful
