Venus and Jupiter last night. So close, Jupiter must have played havoc with tides on Venus. ;)

Memo to Tony Abbott: stop glorifying these idiots. They're not a "death cult", they're just a pack of boofheads.
Also, who or what is Daesh? The entire world talks about ISIS but for some reason you have to call them Daesh? Stop confusing us!

+Steve Thomas install AppOps from play store, it empowers the user to actually select which permissions you want the application to use, other permissions you can turn off. I've noticed many good wallpaper apps take location which pisses me off. Thanks to AppOps, I'm in control.

Just had to test functionality of something in Outlook:
- starting Windows, 1 minute
- starting Outlook, 8 minutes
- testing and finding it didn't work, 1 minute

I agree, I always like Outlook, but it always been a bane to me to get it to do the right thing twice. However it has been a consistent disappointment and in that regard it is successful.

I think it's time for a change in politics. Labor are obviously useless. The Libs are unspeakable. Let's get behind the Greens and make them a real alternative.
Welcome to the Australian Greens Policy hub. The full policy platform (below) was last reviewed in November 2012. At the bottom of the page are initiatives from the 2013 Federal Election and you can also read our full election platform document for more information. State Greens websites may also have State based policies.

Wow. That is a magnificent statement, which will rank alongside the Gettysburg address as one of the greatest.
And compare this with the usual inarticulate sound-bite gibberish we get from most of our politicians, and remember next time you're voting: if he sounds like a jerk or an idiot, he probably is.

Introduction
Testimonial: "Some kind of hippy radical".

That was from 1976, and possibly not intended as a compliment. Meh.

Shortly after that, realising the limitiations of a life spent as a University student, I embarked on a career in IT.

In my spare time, I am a long haired hippy Anarchist and Atheist, and a photographer. My philosophical bent is Buddhist-Taoist-Anarcho-Atheist. I don't really like authority, to be honest. I sometimes cross the road against the lights.

I have an opinion on virtually everything. Not always correct, but I believe in the power of discourse to straighten the kinks out of the world.

Just back from a birthday dinner here. This was our second visit. The first was a Saturday night, really crowded and hard to hold a conversation, even in one of the padded booths. Tonight (Wednesday) was better, the place being only half full. The menu, while not inventive, is solid, with enough dishes to give everyone a choice (even the non-meat eaters). I had the roast lamb for main, done to perfection. The wine list is great. We had two bottles of Elderton "Ode to Lorraine" Cab-Sav/Shiraz/Merlot -- the first sip had us ordering a second bottle. The staff are very friendly, which more than compensates for a certain lack of ambience. Overall rating is "come again" :)

I've had dinner at the Wakefield twice now, and both times it was excellent. The food is best described as high-class pub-grub. Schnitzels, fish and chips, steak sandwich, etc. ... but all done really well and attractively presented. My last meal was the steak sandwich, and yes there was a steak and two slices of bread, but otherwise bearing no great resemblance to the pub food of old. This was delicious, well cooked meat, nice crusty bread, salad, and great chips from kipfler potatoes. Service is polite, swift and competent. Decor is unobtrusive. And there are eleven kinds of meal-deals (membership, two-for-one deals, theatre deals, ...) A great place for a quick meal or relaxed dining.

This has become a regular favourite of my crowd, great for a quick meal before a show, or for a mid-week feed. It's about to undergo yet another change of ownership. Let's hope they keep the $12 steak nights and the Chef's pie special!
