"Capitalism did not eradicate smallpox. It just doesn’t know how".

-Bill Gates, one of the greatest capitalists on the planet.   You could substitute "provide health care to all" and the statement would be just as true.  Capitalism is great for many, many things, but "it doesn't know how" to solve problems whose answers don't come in the language of corporate profits.

In the 19th-century, Irish immigrants were called many of the things you hear hurled at Central American immigrants today: a scourge on public health, a drain on the economy, a threat to American culture. One thing they weren’t called, though, was “illegal,” because that term hadn’t been conceived yet.

I continue to prefer some things here on #GooglePlus, particularly the auto-upload of iphone photos.  But if +Google is going to continue to make it more and more difficult to find an option to share those photos via an email link, meaning with people who choose not to be registered at #GooglePlus, I will continue to predominantly use Dropbox and other sites with less passive-aggressive growth strategies.  *And I'm a Google shareholder!*

Not overrated - classic (read: greasy, yes, but pizza is not supposed to be health food!) Greco-American New England Pizza joint. Not fancy, not expensive, but solid and good. Well-cooked crust with plenty of greasy cheese. Friendly service and good sandwiches and wraps too.
