I'm back working on the bathroom remodel this week. I made this towel rack out of galvanized steel plumbing pipes and fittings. The two shelves are made out of walnut. It's a fun industrial style addition to the guest bathroom.

Does project design always have to begin from a starting point of functionality? Can we achieve good results by approaching form first, then worrying about function second?

Second, humans tend to see beauty in simplicity, yet simplicity can be elusive. How can we strip away our instinct to over-complicate things and find simple elegant solutions a little easier?
