Understanding User Behavior in a Multi-Device World

In this constantly connected world, users can interact with your business across many digital touchpoints: websites, mobile apps, web apps, and other digital devices. So to help you understand what users do in the increasingly diverse digital landscape, we’re enabling you to view web and app data from the same reporting view. This will be rolling out to all accounts over the next week.

Analyze app and web data in the same reporting view
Any data you send to the same property appears in all of the reporting views, regardless of how you collected that data. This means that if you send data from the web or from a mobile app to one property, both data sets appear in your reports.

If you want to isolate data from one source, like if you only want to see web data in your reports, you can set up a filter to customize what you see. You can also use other tools to isolate each data set, including customizations in standard reports, dashboards, custom reports, and secondary dimensions.

Measure web apps
We’ve also added some new app-specific fields to the analytics.js JavaScript web collection library, including screen name, app name, app version, and exception tracking. These changes allow the JavaScript tracking code to take advantage of the app tracking framework, so you can more accurately collect data on your web apps.

How these changes affect you
This product change can affect you in different ways, based on how your account is set up and what kind of data you collect and send to Google Analytics.

If you collect and send both web and app hits to one property in your Google Analytics account, all your hits will appear in all your reporting views starting today. If you want to keep your web and app data separate, you need to add a filter to your reporting views.

If you don’t send web and app data to the same property in your account, your data stays the same.

Everyone, however,  will see the unified metric, dimension, and segment names in their reports.

We’ll be making these changes starting today, and rolling them out incrementally over the next week. Our developer site has more information on these changes:

Today we’re launching Google Camera, a new app for your Android phone or tablet that makes it easy to take quick photos and videos. And being behind the lens just got more fun with new creative picture modes.

Sleek Design. The 100% viewfinder gets out of your way while capturing the maximum resolution of the scene (no dropped pixels). And the extra large capture button is easy to press so your eyes never lose sight of the subject.

Lens Blur. Emphasize the subject while blurring the background for an SLR-like shot with shallow depth-of-field (or bokeh). You can even change the subject in focus after taking the shot.

Improved Panorama. New higher resolution panoramas capture the full width and detail of a scene.

Photo Sphere. Immersive 360 degree photo spheres let you look up, down and all around...now at up to 50 megapixels! For the first time available on non-Nexus devices.

Google Camera is now available on the Play store (http://goo.gl/llsZjx), and works on all phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat. We’re just getting started, and in the months ahead we'll make Google Camera available to more devices, helping make photography easier, faster and more fun.

Check out our Research Blog to learn more (http://goo.gl/lUDfi8).

I was wondering at first, where you are travelling that allowed you to take those pictures. Then, I saw it was a re-share. Got me for a sec there.  :)

how many people LOVE the dentist? seriously, we haven't slept, we haven't eaten, we can't talk. We CANT communicate. So do you want a dentist that checks everything out completely? A Dental Professional with Due Diligence protecting you and you dental health? or one that doesn't want to hurt you, doesn't want to make the extra effort to make sure YOUR LONG TERM DENTAL HEALTH is the main concern? I read your review, but had not slept for 4 days, and was driving myself to and from the dentist, she was closest. She followed through and I will be having her REMOVE more of my DENTAL PAIN proactively. =) She called me several times at home to check on my and answer questions after hours. Isn't this what doctors are supposed to be, people who examine you and FIX health problems. She is a skilled caring medical professional.
