New on SEOno - Expert roundups are all the rage at the moment, and I'm honoured to have been included in a few over the years... However I have a few reasons why I might not share a roundup (even if I'm in it)...
Over the years I’ve participated in a few roundups (a.k.a. crowdsourced content) – sometimes via HARO, sometimes by being approached directly by email. Whenever the latter happens, I …

New on SEOno - If your username is taken, don't just settle for "username1"... Here are a few suggestions of alternatives that'll retain your brand's awesomeness:
Recently I fell in love with an Irish folk band called The Gloaming. I later found their Twitter profile, and quietly cringed when I saw their handle: @TheGloaming1… @thegloaming is already t…

New on SEOno - It's a common Twitter mistake I first blogged about 4-5 years ago, and yet I see people still doing it every. single. day.
Many moons ago, when this blog was only a couple of months old, I published a list of all the things I see people getting wrong on Twitter. One of the points (#1 on that list) ended up having its o…

New on SEOno - If you're doing HARO repurposing (i.e. reusing HARO responses that don't get picked up) then here's a quick I-can't-believe-I-didn't-think-of-it-earlier tip to help keep on top of things...

My latest post on +State of Digital - A message to marketers who RT their clients' campaigns willy-nilly, or rope in friends to help promote them: we're better than this...
A rambling from a digital marketer who's getting fed up with other digital marketers who share/RT their clients' campaigns willy-nilly.

Possibly a rookie question but can't find the answer anywhere for the life of me...

GMB listing descriptions for multiple locations - I'm writing descriptions for c. 15 locations for a client. Each location offers the same service, so 2-3 sentences of the description will pretty much be identical. I'm then varying the final line in each instance, saying: "Our [location] office is [info about its location, the city, etc.]" So in other words, about 75% of the description will be similar/the same each time, but 25% will be completely unique. Will this be a problem, or does it even matter? Seems excessive to rewrite and reword each individual description... or is that the best thing to do? Thanks guys! :-)

+Steve Morgan just be sure you don't do any edits to the GMB data AFTER you submit them for verification, until AFTER you complete the verifications.  That's not what you asked about, but I thought it was worth mentioning.  If you submit them for verification and then perform further edits, the verification PINs may be rejected.

I recently hired Owain of Tree Top for a small project and wasn't disappointed - I'd happily recommend him.

I hired Harding Evans to help me to give advice relating to a money claim, after a client unfortunately refused to pay a few invoices I was owed. I was really impressed with Nicola and William's advice as well as their willingness to help and to make sure that I fully understood the legalese involved. I wouldn't hesitate to use HE again or to refer them in - in fact I have already do so.

BPU Accountants were recommended to me by my parents, who have been working with them for years. I'd just started my own business and wanted to appoint an accountant who could help me with my tax return and could also answer any questions that I had, as I was new to self-employment and knew very little about tax issues. Dealing first with Martin and then Adam, I was not disappointed - no question was too small, and often they would reply to me on the same day, within a matter of hours. I found them to be very approachable and friendly, which is important when you're dealing with something so important. I'd happily recommend them to anyone in Cardiff/South Wales who's looking for an accountant - I'm looking forward to continuing to work with them over the coming years.

I've been a member of Welsh ICE for over a year, pretty much since starting my own business. ICE has been a massive help to me: opening up business funding, getting support from their mentoring scheme, networking with fellow members (resulting in a fair few new clients/projects), using their meeting rooms and having an official office address that I can use on business cards. It's more than just office space - and it beats working from home...! Also, living in the north of Cardiff, it's such an easy commute - it's quicker than heading into the centre of Cardiff from where I am. I really recommend it. If anyone I know goes self-employed, I let them know about ICE straight away.

The food was nice but the place is unclean and unhygienic: the highchair for the baby had old food glued onto it; there was food stuck to the menus on our tables; there was food stuck to the wall(?!) where we were sat; and worst of all, there were two hairs in my food, one of which was curly and either looked like a chest hair or something worse. Absolutely vile.

Seen a few bands here - it's a great venue. Nice, friendly atmosphere and staff. I just wish we had an equivalent in Cardiff!
