+Cubbie just turned on the TV and then sat down and watched the entire story about coyotes in L.A. that had just come on. o.O

The remote was way out of reach next to my pillow and myself. I was asleep.

Happy 20th, Virtual Boy!

I don't care what people say, I love my VB. Still have it, still works perfectly, and it has never given me headaches.

Nintendo’s first foray into 3D gaming was released in Japan on July 21, 1995. On this, the Virtual Boy’s 20th birthday, let’s take a moment to appreciate all the joy it has brought gamers over the years. No really, I’m serious.

Only available to buy for the next 6 days. All proceeds go to charity - 50% to children in hospitals, 50% to cancer research.

Not official merchandise by Nintendo but still cool and worth supporting and getting.

#ThankYouIwata
To commemorate the life of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata you can now purchase a "Thank You, Mr. Iwata t-shirt. The proceeds of the t-shirt sales will go to two respectable charities. 50% off the ...

Mr. Iwata was laid to rest at a Japanese temple in Kyoto, Japan on Friday. Friends and family and colleagues attended and thousands of fans paid their respect as well. Many more paid their respect across the world at different Nintendo locations.

From Balloon Fight, Kirby, Earthbound, Pokémon, and Super Smash Bros. to the present and even the future, he never stopped making people smile.

May he rest in peace and his legacy live on forever.

By some measures, Satoru Iwata was the most successful video game creator to have ever lived: a kid who played Pong; a young man who started a development studio with friends; and eventually at 42, the CEO of the most beloved company in his medium’s history.

When asked about why he refused to lay off anyone at the company, Satoru Iwata replied:

"I sincerely doubt employees who fear that they may be laid off will be able to develop software titles that could impress people around the world."

Instead he took a 50% pay cut so employees could keep their jobs.

No way. I had a feeling something was up seeing how he kept missing big events and having other people do the Nintendo Direct videos.

This really sucks. I have a Nintendo DS autographed by him, and he kept my Sharpie afterwards. You can actually see that in a copy of Game Informer, right as I was walking away from him. I'm glad to have met him, he was a really nice guy and did a lot for the industry. +Nintendo will not be the same without him.

Rest in peace.

:(
Nintendo has just issued a short statement announcing that president Satoru Iwata has passed away at the age of 55.

Introduction
This is my personal site. The views I express on my profile, posts, and elsewhere are mine alone and not necessarily those of my employer.

I care about people's views. And if you don't agree with mine, even more reason to discuss things! I love compromise and the meeting of minds! I don't need reassurance where every person has to always agree with me, just a pleasant discussion with various perspectives. A public post is a courteous extension to those I do not know and would love to discover. You're welcome to join in but please be respectful that it is still my thread and not yours, so act civil and mature towards me and others who comment. Open minds are welcome, closed minds are not.
