Before OS X Lion:
1) turn on bluetooth headset - it would automatically connect with my
laptop, ignoring my iPhone (which had also been previously paired)
2) laptop generates a confirmation popup: hit enter for ok
3) play music

After OS X Lion:
1) turn on bluetooth headset
2) forget my iPhone's bluetooth is on
3) turn off bluetooth headset (only other alternative is delete the device from the
iPhone, forcing me to re-pair later)
4) disable bluetooth on iPhone (3 menu layers deep)
5) turn on bluetooth headset
6) go to laptop bluetooth menu; select device and tell it to use it
7) open bluetooth preferences
8) double-click on the "Paired" entry to force the pairing
(even though the device is tagged as a "favorite")
9) wait until the device becomes "connected"
10) play music
11) remember to turn bluetooth back on on the iPhone (or else it won't work
with my car on the drive home)

sigh Really, Apple?

Ugh, switching between Lion/iOS trackpad scrolling (which I like) and regular mouse wheel scrolling hurts my brain for about 2 seconds each time I do it.

Um, Apple? How do you completely mess up something that was working perfectly? Bluetooth in Lion is a step backwards.

I'm looking for a replacement for my Google Health data. MS Health Vault is kind of a last resort, and I'm considering just using my FitBit account, but definitely anything that I'm going to have to spend money on will likely mean I'll lean toward writing my own. Some sort of visualization/graphing is essential. Any suggestions? I have until the end of the year, so up-and-coming services in that time frame are considerations (of course, so is a certain amount of trust in the entity running the service!).

Found a copy of those several-year-old PDFs I'd lost...thanks, Wayback Machine!
