This post is out of date before I've even posted it. As I was finalizing this post, build 10159 appeared and I'm downloading it now. We don't know what's in the latest build yet but it's said to be significant. I'll update this post with anything that's affected here and write a new overview after I've looked at build 10159. The 'beta' tags have been removed from Store, Music, Maps, Edge and other apps in Windows 10 preview release 10158 and the ...

Don't know if it is from this build, or if I have missed it till now, but the split keyboard doesn't show a grey emptiness in between the buttons, but what lies beneath it. What makes a lot of sense especially on the limited screenspace of a tablet.

Be quick because this is the best offer I think I’ve ever seen on an ultramobile PC. Lenovo Thinkpad 8 tablets in the UK are all on offer now but there’s one incredible deal that I want to highlight. This is probably the most tricked-out ultramobile PC on the market.

If only their was a decent keyboard dock this would be awesome and fill the void left by the t90 chi never arriving.
Does this support connected standby as I have a funny feeling it doesn't. And is that something supported by Windows 10?

This is the Atom-based version (there's a Core-based version too) and it comes with 4GB of RAM, a full USB 3.0 port and the high-end, full 64-bit Z3795 CPU. Just finished another deep deep review: The latest, possibly last, in the Baytrail-M Atom-based Dell Venue 11 Pro series includes 4GB RAM and the high-clocking Z3795. It's close to the Surface 3 in performance and desktop-capable.

It was, as it turned out, one of the best and with its 1920x1200 display and USB 3.0 quite unique. A recent update to the range saw the original Z3770 processor being replaced with a Z3795 CPU (1.59 Ghz - 2.39 Ghz) CPU, 4GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD and a true 64-bit Windows Pro build. The improvements in performance are easy to measure. It...

Removing articles from search indexes, to improve search performance.

Up until about 2011 it was pretty much the norm to stuff as much content into Google as possible. As long as you fed the monster, it played nice with you. Now, it's different.
Media companies know about this already but if you're running a site that's been up for a long time you might want to consider removing old content from Google, especially if it doesn't get many views and especially if it uses old keywords. You don't want those old keywords in your landscape at all and you don't want Google thinking you only have short, uninteresting posts. It drags your site down.

As part of my SEO project, that's been going on for months now on UMPCPortal, I'm removing all references to the gallery pages (very little content there and the keyword mix was simply manufacturer names) and i'm removing all content from 2006-2008. My forum went a number of years ago. I've also farmed out the comments to Disqus because I can't have spam tarnishing my domain. Beyond that I'll be removing articles with less than 300 words in them and any that focus on old keywords. (Like products that don't exist anymore, or old marketing terms, brands, techniques etc.)

A year ago I had over 100,000 pages indexed in Google. I'm aiming for less than 10000 by end of summer. After that I'll reconsider my position on Wordpress tag indexing. I currently get a lot of traffic through tags in search results.

Tip: Don't do this all at once. NOINDEX your pages in batches over months and as you do it, watch your keyword landscape change on Google Webmaster tools. My 'keyword landscape' has changed from mostly manufacturer names to a much better mix. I also found some old spam keywords in the list. They were from a hack that was fixed months ago but it's taking Google a long, long time to re-index these old pages.
Keep a good check on your 'position'  too. From what I can see across my sites, a position of less than 10 is a good sign. Of course you'll need to get your keyword landscape in check. There's no use being high in position for keywords that you're not really focusing on.

Thanks to +Rheinwunder UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG for their SEO expertise over the last few months. (I work in the same building as them and we meet over coffee occasionally)

I will be tracking 1 - keyword spread reported by webmaster tools 2 - position reported by webmaster tools 3 - search traffic levels at the site. 300 words is my cut-off point that tells me for sure that I don't want those posts in Google search results. Actually I've been advised by 2 SEO companies that 1000-words articles is what you should aim for as a quality site. Thanks for the tips though. SEO is an ongoing process and discussion is always needed.

The Acer Switch 10E, on first impressions, is looking good as a tablet, but there's a keyboard included too.
Acer are promising full WIndows 10 support for this 2 in 1.

I'm just about to start reviewing the Ainol Mini PC, an Atom-based PC with an interesting feature. It has a battery included in the unit and because it supports Miracast it can run completely without wires. The Ainol Mini PC has triggered a few switches in my head as a solution for portable, secure computing or as an HTPC or presentation device. It's silent, it's compact and it can even charge a smartphone.. The embedded 13 Wh battery makes all ...

Queuing to order food, picking it up yourself, eating with local Telekom staff at lunchtime. This 'new concept' style is somewhat over-rated in my opinion. Clean and smart location and food good though.

Average quality hotel is clean and friendly. Value for money is good although don't expect the buffet breakfast to run room smoothly in high season. Hotel building 2 has no reception and is situated across from a car park that can be noisy from early to late. Great position for exploring the area though. Nearby restaurants suitable for all tastes.
