I haven't done an SEO/website strategy  update for a while, so here it is...as banner ads get pummeled into non-existence!

My recent call for support was a help, but not enough to support many of the plans I had. The SEO analysis and re-landscaping has been completed though and that was a great move.
I took thousands of posts and the whole of my gallery out of Google search and I'm now happier with my keyword spread (see pic.). It means I can now focus on the Webmaster tools 'position' figure as my daily benchmark. (Target: Under 10 before Christmas)

Windows 10 saw a 20-30% boost in traffic overall as owners searched for technical stuff I've written in the past. Windows 10 will remain a very very important keyword, but not as important as Surface Pro 4.

The Surface 'brand' is worth a lot. I did my Surface Pro 3 over 6 months after the product launched and it's a regular top-10 article here. Surface Pro 4 has already appeared in my search keyword results (Pos 22) at Webmaster Tools but I need to work on that as soon as real content is possible. (Not rumors!)

Before Surface Pro 4 there's IFA and I'll be there to cover that. It's difficult to write a lot while you're running about there  but I'll focus on some detailed, rather than 'first hands on' videos and do the extended writing on my return.

The continuing business strategy is:
To be a successful website (business) you need to be very good at everything and not just an expert in your sites topic. You need to know how to write a good post with a good headline, to know what articles people want to read (evergreen content) and how to work with banner ads, affiliate, sponsorship, community support and special projects. A website needs a face and that face needs to be active in the community and accessible for readers.

I'm not great at all of those things, but I might survive if I have a good Q4 2015, Q1 2016. (Good means doubling traffic but it would be better to triple it.) Current growth rates need to continue to achieve that.

One area that needs to change is how I deliver banner ads. It's not the ads that are bad (well placed, matching advertising work) it's the way they are delivered. The scripts which deliver and track users are killing the UX.  I will be looking for direct-sale ad opportunities over the next 6 months because script-delivered ads and tracking isn't helping anyone. This is going to be a huge problem for ad agencies but the first agencies to switch to 'clean' delivery and long-term sponsorship could be the ones that win.

Do you have a website? How are things for you? What's your current strategy?

Question marks at the end of titles work well too. "Is there a 24-inch Surface Pro 4 coming?" for example! ;-)

I'm sure MS won't actually mind. If it was running Android that may be a different story.

Don't doubt that it could, but whether it'll be easy depends on how Ainol set up the EFI. If it's like many Baytrail configs, it (stupidly) uses a 32-bit UEFI which is very, very poorly supported in *nix. Not sure what the state of video drivers are for this.

Queuing to order food, picking it up yourself, eating with local Telekom staff at lunchtime. This 'new concept' style is somewhat over-rated in my opinion. Clean and smart location and food good though.

Average quality hotel is clean and friendly. Value for money is good although don't expect the buffet breakfast to run room smoothly in high season. Hotel building 2 has no reception and is situated across from a car park that can be noisy from early to late. Great position for exploring the area though. Nearby restaurants suitable for all tastes.

Make sure you board the steam-powered ride. There's a diesel locomotive that's not half as interesting as the smelly steam locomotive! 8 minutes at about 10km/h is worth it. Take a look a the cabin classes and imagine. . .
