Samsung  -

My Moto E runs a hell of a lot smoother than my Galaxy S5. Samsung really needs to focus on the basics.

IMO Google really screwed up two important aspects of Android with Lollipop. The task switcher is atrocious. Every single app on my phone is in the task switcher. I have to scroll for days to find the "task" I want to switch to. And the battery stats. The percents don't add up. Right now on my phone my usage percents add up to 45%. What's taking up the other 55%?

+Kevin Carpenter it's been working perfectly for me. I can still get 8hrs SOT today like the first day I turned the phone on. My old Droid Razr still gets 5hrs SOT today. So how is it that my way is bad exactly??

It's funny to say running the phone down is bad. Considering the charger is designed to charge from less than 20%.....

Samsung Galaxy Note  -

This is the first year I'm unimpressed with the Note. I think I'm gonna pick up a X Pure instead, at half the price.

Samsung Galaxy Note  -

Happened to pass by my local Verizon store and stopped in the check out the new Note 5. They didn't have a demo unit, not even a mock unit. I would think for a manufacturer as prominent as Samsung, Verizon would've prepped a little.

So here's a few of my thoughts on recents phones and more importantly how they're sold. I'm looking to buy a new phone soon as I do every few months. I'm on a grandfathered Verizon unlimited data plan that I refuse to ever give up, so I buy all my phones "off contract" at retail. I've always been a big fan of the Note series, I've owned every iteration. While this years Note 5 is not as impressive to me as Notes past I would of likely still bought it. Enter the second phone on my mind and the one I will be purchasing this fall, the Moto X Pure. This phone is sold off contract, at a reasonable price and will work on virtually all carriers in US. Personally I think the Note is the better device. I actually like TouchWiz and LOVE the SPen, heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor ect. However I'll be purchasing the X Pure for one sole purpose, to support this way of selling a decent device direct from manufacturer to customer at a reasonable price, without a contract or carrier involvement at all. What are your thoughts on this type of direct to consumer selling? Do you see this being the future?

+Otto Werse I'm teetering on whether or not I like it. In one photo I love it, but then in another it's blah. I guess matching the colors together nicely will go a long way.

My Moto360 is under 5.1.1 so... I think that Motorola has better done  the job than Sony.
