Quote for the Day:

“Nine-tenths of wisdom is being wise in time.”

Theodore Roosevelt

We all have 24 hours in a day, but how come some people achieve so much more in 24 hours than others?

How can we increase our productivity and still have time to do the things we enjoy doing with our loved ones?

The answer is time management and discipline.

The more disciplined we are with our time the more freedom we create to spend our life doing the things we love.

This does not happen by chance you have to work at it and plan your days accordingly.

This is the main ethos of Craig Ballantyne's The Perfect Day Formula.

The first Perfect Day Formula worksheet is a Work- Life Balance Assessment and the first thing you fill out is your Personal Productivity Review.

You look at your current workday, outline a perfect workday, the activities and environment that foster your productivity, creativity and wellbeing, your current diet and exercise routine, the things you hate doing, the most profitable things you are doing with your time, what you are doing that could leverage more productivity and finally your biggest weaknesses when it comes to productivity and time management.

Once you have addressed all of these factors then you can begin working on your time management and productivity.

I identified social media and television as my biggest 'time sucks' and now have specific times that I allow myself to indulge in them. I also allocate specific times when I respond to emails and speak to people. This way I am in charge of my day, I can control and dominate it as opposed to being reactive to other people's agendas and finding I do not have enough time to do the things I need to do for productivity and to enjoy the things I like doing with the people I love for enjoyment, relaxation and pleasure.

If this sounds the way forward for you to help you live the Perfect Life I highly recommend you check out The Perfect Day Formula by going to

I cannot recommend it enough it really can transform your life it has mine.

Have a marvellous Monday peeps and a wonderful week.

Quote for the Day:

"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.”

Winston Churchill

It is hard to keep going and stay focused and positive when the chips are down, everything seems to be going against you and there seems to be no way out of the rut you are stuck in.

But there is always light at the end of the tunnel, a way out and path to be able to climb the most unsurmountable mountain.

You just need to breathe, be positive and stay focused on what you really want in life and make sure you work hard every single day to reach your goals and never, ever give up.

This is sometimes easier said than done and two months ago everything seemed to be going against me in every area of my life and my world came crashing down.

I could not understand how and why I was in that situation, why everything, everyone and even my body seemed to be letting me down?

I looked at my life and said to myself this is not the life I am meant to be leading and decided to do everything in my power to change it.

I had already read Craig Ballantyne's The Perfect Day Formula but then The Perfect Day Formula box set came through the post containing the Perfect Day Gratitude Journal, work sheets, daily task sheets and a copy of the book.

I worked diligently through the works sheets, setting my 3 year vision and 90 day goals, creating my own rules and schedule for my life and to be able to fulfil my goals and reach my vision and then every night for the month of June I have filled in my Gratitude Journal, set my daily tasks for the next day and worked relentlessly towards the end result.

The transformation in my life after just one month has been incredible and I am starting the month of July in such a better place in every aspect of my life than when I was approaching June.

I still have a long way to go and a lot of work to do until I achieve my dream life, but each and everyday I work hard to ensure I have the Perfect Day everyday right now in the present.

Quote for the Day:

“Ya gots to work with what you gots to work with.”

Stevie Wonder

Each of us is an individual with our own set of unique skills and our own story to tell.

What is it that you can do better than anybody else?

What is your USP?

What makes you different to anybody else?

Being you.

No one else is better at being you than you.

Do not try and copy or be someone else, just be you.

Be the best version of yourself you can be.

You are fabulous and there is no one else in the world like you.

Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps.

Quote for the Day:

"You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”

Abraham Lincoln

We often put tasks off that we should be doing today until tomorrow.

One way of getting round this problem is by planning what you are going to do that day the night before.

The last thing I do before I switch off from work and relax for the evening is to write in my Perfect Day Formula Gratitude Journal the things that I am grateful for that day, the people that helped me, what I have achieved and what my number one priority is for the next day.

I also think about what I could have done better.

Then I write out my tasks for the next day on my Perfect Day Formula task sheet and the time I am going to do each task.

Once I have completed this final work task of the day I can switch off from work, relax and enjoy my evening.

Then when I wake up the next morning I can get going straight away by diving into my number one priority for the day.

Have a tremendous Tuesday peeps.

Quote for the Day:

“I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.”

Michael Jordan

Many people are too scared to try to do something and if you allow this fear to prevent you from starting you will never achieve your dreams.

But if you at least have a go, what is the worst thing that can happen?

Fear of failure can be crippling, but failure is nothing to be scared of, you can learn from failure, pick yourself up and then having learnt from your mistakes you can come back stronger.

And if you fail again you can learn some more and keep going through the learning process and each time you come back stronger until eventually you succeed in achieving your goals and fulfilling your dreams.

But in order to succeed you have to actually have a go.

Come on what are you waiting for?

Follow your dreams and never ever give up until you get there.

Have a marvellous Monday peeps and a wonderful week.

Quote for the Day:

"Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness.”

Euripides

Yesterday was up there as one of my best days ever.

I have woken up this morning in a four poster bed in Thorpe Hall the Georgian 40 room hall home of my friend Hugh Inge Innes Lillington with a slight hangover and a very full belly.

This time yesterday I was searching for a cashpoint in Tamworth having just got off the train from Crewe. I had arrived at Crewe at 5:30 in the morning having taken the Sleeper train from Inverness to Crewe.

The final part of the journey was to get a taxi from Tamworth to Thorpe Constantine.

When I arrived the house was full of friends and family of Hugh's who were mainly conversing in French, to which I did my best to join in.

I then walked over to the area where all the stall holders were setting up for the Summer Fayre.

I found the stage and did a sound check for my Bootylicious performance.

Then Hugh told me to go and look at the tractors. The collection was amazing with some vintage ones going back to 1905, but all were trumped by James Daws' brand new combine harvester which was huge.

As I walked back the smell of food was irrisistable and I decided to eat I had already had a bacon roll at Crewe Station earlier and then found myself eating a cheeseburger before 10am I was shocked at myself but it was delicious and went down really well after such a long night of travel.

At 11am David Ertle my Financial Director and childhood friend who I have known since I was four arrived with his children Ava and Spike plus my yoga mats that he had collected from London for me after he had landed from Sydney where he has lived for the last twenty years.

I hadn't seen Ava and Spike for three years since the time we had all been at Dave's farmhouse in France.

I showed Dave round the Clock house and Stables where our first ELYSIUM Lifestyle and Fitness Club will be housed with facilities including:

A yoga studio, spinning studio, Barre/Dance studio, HIIT factory, PT Pod, changing rooms, showers, steam, sauna, cold plunge, treatment rooms, consultation rooms, reception area, The Glasshouse, chill out zone, Japanese garden, library/, members lounge and bar and boutique guest rooms.

We then walked past the Granary where the Ethicurean will house their restaurant, past the farmhouse, which will become a hotel and walked to the beautiful walled gardens filled with lavender and other herbs and grass lawns which will be a venue for wedding receptions complete with a converted Bothy which will house the bride and groom.

Dave was speechless and said Thorpe Constantine was amazing and was the perfect venue and destination place for our venture.

This is the reaction most people have when they see the buildings and grounds of Thorpe Constantine for the first time it really is a magical and special place as are all the people who are involved in the exciting adventure to make Thorpe Constantine the destination venue for a radius of 100 miles, for weddings, conferences, wining and dining and health, fitness and wellbeing activities.

We then headed back to the Fayre where Ava and Spike enjoyed climbing into the tractors, watching the dog agility trials, sheep shearing and falconry.

We then met up with my digital director James Lucas, my architect Brent Richards and the stunning Saira Rehman who is a local physiotherapist and will be the ELYSIUM club manager.

Then it was time for me to perform Bootylicious which I was dreading as I knew it was going to really hurt because of my injury and I hadn't performed it since 2015 when I had performed it at Vitality SportFest when I had been accompanied by Olympic legend Daley Thompson who not many people know is a great dancer, which is not really that much of a surprise because he is annoyingly good at everything.

My performance went down well and I managed to get through it ok, but the moment I stepped off stage the pain and my Sciatica kicked in as the injury in my hip flared up and caused the nerves around the injured area to go into overdrive.

I literally couldn't walk and was in agony, but thankfully Saira was there to give me a few exercises to help release the pressure in the nerves, but I still had to spend the rest of the day hobbling around in a walking stick in great discomfort.

We decided to set up camp for the afternoon in the Thorpe Constantine events area where the Ethicurean were supplying the food and making cocktails and we gave out leaflets to people who were interested in dance, fitness and yoga.

We all went and did archery which was great fun before Dave had to leave with his kids and head back to Hassocks which is where we both grew up as children.

Meanwhile James, Saira and I went back to the Thorpe Constantine Events area and ate the delicious Ethicurean barbecued chicken and cracked open a bottle of Presecco to celebrate a fabulous day and our first event for ELYSIUM.

After all the punters left at 5am and we had all cleared up then the fun really began. We had a barbecue of marinated chicken, burgers, steaks and sausages washed down with copious amounts of wine, champagne and gin based cocktails whilst we watched the sun set over the 3,000 acres of lush grounds. We then all piled into James Daw's lovingly restored vintage LandRover Jeep and whizzed around the grounds screaming and laughing with joy.

When it got dark we all went into the amazing yurt, which has been built for weddings and events before we eventually retired to bed some of us in tents and yurts whilst Hugh and I headed back to the house where I literally limped and stumbled into my four poster bed to end the perfect day and night.

Have a super Sunday peeps and a wonderful weekend.

Quote for the Day:

“Be deaf when people tell you that you can't fulfill your dreams.”

M. Scott Peck

For as long as I can remember people have been telling me that I won't be able to fulfil my dreams.

Starting with my French teacher at school, who to be fair to her I am not naturally gifted at languages and didn't pay attention in her class, said I would never go to college let alone University if I didn't take French at 'O' level.

So I took German instead went to college got my 'A' levels in English Literature and Language plus Human Biology before going to University.

I then decided I wanted to be a professional dancer everyone told me I was too old to become a dancer.
At Ballet School I said I wanted to be a classical dancer and they said I should do the musical theatre course because it was very hard for black people to do ballet. I said I am doing the classical course, worked really hard for three years and joined a ballet company when I left school.

When I finished dancing I became a personal trainer and choreographer and then decided to set up my own production company and everyone told me I could not do that because I had no business experience and had never had a proper job, well I ran a successful company turning over close to a million pounds a year until I had to move up to Scotland and look after my mum in the Highlands six years ago.

Up here in the Highlands I had to start from scratch and had no contacts whatsoever. I started teaching yoga and Bootylicious in the local church hall in Cromarty and started learning about online fitness studying under Craig Ballantyne the editor of Early to Rise and author of The Perfect Day Formula.

I started getting up very early every morning and writing my Quotes for the Day blogs and writing a book, walking my dogs up the 100 steps to the Sutors, studying, making up workouts and teaching.

On my walks I decided I could bring up my clients from London to train in the beautiful surroundings so I set up Highland Health Retreats training clients in luxurious castles up in the Highlands.

I performed Bootylicious on the main stage in front of 10,000 people at Belladrum Festival and got a TV series as a trainer on SKY called 'Bigger than Beyonce' all from a little village in the middle of nowhere in the Highlands.

I was loving local life and started running Kool Kidz Kamps teaching kids dance, drama and sport giving out scholarships to children that needed a helping hand. I ran and sponsored the local football team and then on New Years Eve I got racially abused and attacked I managed to knock out one of the assailants, but it was a horrible experience and once the police were involved the village became divided, which often happens in a small community where everybody is related. I was made to feel an outsider and my mum was worried and felt I wasn't safe from attack when I was on daily walks in the woods miles away from anybody.

She advised me to go to Aberdeen where I had made a couple of visits to explore the opportunities there provided by the wealth built up in the Oil industry.

Once I got to Aberdeen everything started flying and I got lots of personal training clients and was up for a Trend Lifestyle Award in the summer.

I made a lot of good friends and we looked into setting up a Members club with fitness facilities and started looking at properties and working on the business plan.

Then I fell in love with a beautiful woman. Unfortunately her estranged husband as well as being a domestic abuser, was a racist and a well connected local solicitor, which is a very dangerous combination and he managed to make my and my girlfriends life hell.

He racially abused me on a daily basis, my girlfriend he physically and verbally abused regularly, he told outrageous and libellous lies about both of us personally and also professionally. I knew I did not want to live my life like this and with the onset of the oil downturn it made sense to take my dream back to London and for the last two years I have been tweaking the ideas I first began creating up in Cromarty in 2011.

And finally today we launch the first ELYSIUM Fitness and Wellbeing Event at Thorpe Constantine's Summer Fayre, where I will be performing Bootylicious on the main stage to an audience that is expected to reach 5,000 and will also be teaching yoga classes throughout the day.

In the Autumn we will be running more fitness, dance, yoga and wellbeing activities at Thorpe Constantine ahead of the planned opening of our first ELYSIUM Lifestyle and Fitness Club at the end of the year.

Our elysiumclubs.com website goes live and launches today.

Please visit it at elysiumclubs.com

Your feedback will be gratefully received as we learn the sort of service our members would like to receive so we can tweak our offering to reflect these desires and begin building the ELYSIUM brand.

There have been lots of people saying I am a dreamer and that I would never open my own club, but I have never listened to them and I have never, ever, ever given up despite all the hardships and racial abuse I have gone through and some of which is unfortunately still continuing.

And so today is a very special day for me and I would like to thank everyone who has helped me to get this far and also I hope that anyone else out there who is going through a hard time can look at me and say he never listened to the haters and he never gave up on fulfilling his dreams and neither will I.

Have a superb Saturday peeps and a wonderful weekend.

Quote for the Day:

“Don't find fault, find a remedy.”

Henry Ford

June has been a very productive month for me so far and I have been making huge steps forward in all aspects of my life.

But recently I have found that I am repeatedly coming across the same stumbling block and reoccurring problem, so on Monday evening although I was feeling very positive I was also feeling frustrated at this problem that would not go away and was proving to be an immovable object preventing me from moving forward on my journey to my goals.

But when I woke up the next morning I went on an early walk along the deserted beach with my dogs the sea and clods were calm and soon so was my mind.

Earlier I had been looking out the window and seen a solitary dolphin swim past. Although dolphins are common in the Cromarty Firth it was only the second time I had seen one swim past my mothers front window.

The sighting of the dolphin, made me smile, lifted my mood and I decide to go for a walk along the beach instead of getting on my yoga mat.

As soon as I walked along the beach and my mind began to clear the solution to my problem came to me. It was so simple I could not believe I had not seen the answer before. Immediately I started buzzing because I could see a way around the obstacle which was preventing me from progressing on my journey.

I realised that I had been focusing on the fault, the problem and not looking for the remedy, the solution.

Are you making the same mistake?

Make sure you always look for the remedy, focus on solutions not problems.

Have a thoughtful Thursday peeps.

Quote for the Day:

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”

Mahatma Gandhi

After going through a difficult period recently I have found happiness within myself.

I am 100% sure what I want in every aspect of my life and every action I do for every minute of everyday is aligned with my thoughts as does every word I speak or put down on paper.

This has not happened by chance, I have worked hard and taken the time to think about what I really want in every aspect of my life, the reasons why I had not achieved those things yet and everything I need to do to fulfil those goals moving forwards plus the obstacles I will need to overcome.

This thinking, planning and taking action has all occurred whilst completing Craig Ballantyne's The Perfect Day Formula worksheets and I am now on Day 22 of The Perfect Day Formula 90 Day Challenge andit has literally changed my life and from being in a dark place where all I wanted to do was hideaway and not see or do anything to where I am now, which is I am literally waking up bursting at the seams with energy and a passion for life and love.

Good morning peeps, meditation done.

Quote for the Day:

“Life is breath and breath is life.”

Swami Rama

In 1970 Swami Rama who was raised in the Himalayan caves and had trained in the closely guarded secrets of yoga since the age of three, walked into an American Research laboratory and under the most rigorous experimental conditions he simulated death by virtually stopping his brainwaves and heartbeat and yet remained fully conscious of events occurring around him in the laboratory. His breathing abilities stunned the western scientific establishment and they began to take notice of the inner science of the Indian yogis, which far exceeded the knowledge of the western physicians and physiologists.

Svarodaya in Sanskrit means the science of breath. Breathing is the one physical function, which is both involuntary and voluntary. The Indian inner explorers understood this and realized that breath is the key to control over the autonomic nervous system and by learning to manipulate their breathing patterns yogis gained control over their brain function to an extent scarcely anyone in the west would have believed possible until Swami Rama had walked into the laboratory.

Swami Rama insisted that the human body is actually organszed around a field of energy called Sukshima Shariva (Sanskrit for subtle body), which most western scientists still dispute, but he manipulated this energy field to raise tumerous growths on his arms and make them disappear in a matter of hours.

Imagine how the treatment of cancer might change if medical research devoted even a fraction of their funds to the exploration of living energy?

In 1931 Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize in physiology of medicine for proving that viruses cannot proliferate or exist in an environment with high levels of oxygen. Viruses are anaerobic which means that they occur and thrive in the absence of oxygen. Warburg stated,

“Deprive a cell 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become cancerous”

He went on to say that the prime cause of cancer is insufficient oxygen at the cellular level and that cancer cells cannot survive in a high oxygen environment.

Research shows that cancerous tumors shrink when put into contact with oxygen. The studies conducted by other researchers and doctors have proven that not only cancer cells but almost all toxins; bacteria, viruses, pathogens and disease microorganisms are oxidized and killed in high oxygen environments.

Smog and air filled pollution inhibit our ability to take in sufficient amounts of oxygen. We breathe in slowly and shallowly when taking in polluted air full of carbon monoxide and other toxins and as a result our bodies become accustomed to living with less oxygen. Our atmosphere should ideally contain 20% oxygen but in some especially polluted areas it is as low as 10%.

We are also cutting down trees locally and in the rain forests at alarming rates. Trees breathe in the carbon dioxide we breathe out and they provide oxygen in return. Fewer tress means less oxygen for us to breathe.

Breathing is the process that moves air in and out of the lungs and oxygen is required to release energy in the body via the respiration system.

Breathing is one of the processes that deliver oxygen to where it is needed in the body and removes carbon dioxide the other is the circulatory system, which transports blood around the body.

We only have a certain amount of breaths in our lives, the same way a car only has a certain amount of miles in it’s lifetime expectancy. Scientists’ estimate that on average a human takes about 600 million breaths during their lifetime. Therefore it makes sense to breathe efficiently to enable us to get the most amount of oxygen out of every breath we take to make sure we get the most out of our lives in both quality and length.

The Yogic Breath

The three types of inhalation (Chest, diaphragm and clavicle) can be coordinated in one smooth exercise in which a maximum deep breath is taken.

This is the complete breath used in yoga, which iniates in the diaphragm, resulting in the slight expansion of the lower ribs and protrusion of the upper abdomen, oxygenating the lower lung fields and then the middle portions of the lungs expand with outward chest movement in the thoracic phase and finally the slight raising of the clavicles expands the upper most tips of the lungs.

After the lungs are filled to their maximum capacity with air, how are they emptied?

The key is relaxation as experienced in sighing or letting out a deep breath in a completely relaxed passive motion, without muscle contraction to push the air out. This allows the lungs to act as if they as elastic and shrink back to their original size much like a balloon once the end is untied.

The quality of this breathing process is of great importance in maintaining health and energy production.

Anxiety is associated with chest breathing and many people attempt to suppress their fears by holding in their stomachs and stilling the diaphragm.

People also hold their stomachs in for body image, whilst diaphragmatic breathing pushes the abdomen forward and a protruding stomach is not fashionable in our society. Hence we are told to push our chest out and hold our stomach in, keeping it tense which leads to an increased reliance on chest breathing.

Through practice and awareness we need to change the habits of a lifetime and learn to breath in a more efficient manner to boost our energy production, reduce stress and fatigue levels and maintain good health.

Breathing Exercises

Controlling the tempo of our breathing helps control the state of the mind in times of stress, where the body’s natural “fight or flight” response, quickens up our rate of breathing and causes panic and stress in both our body and mind.

When we are scared or in a state of stress our shoulders tighten, causing even more tension and our heart beat races, our breathing becomes short and sharp, increasing the sense of panic.

If we can maintain an even, steady breathe, this slows the heart rate, relaxes the body and supplies the brain with enough oxygen to make wise decisions.

I like to begin my day with 10 minutes of breathing exercises, sometimes I get up out of bed and sit cross legged with my back against the wall, other times I lie on the floor with the soles of the feet together, or if I am particularly tired, I will simply stay in bed, under the warmth and comfort of my duvet, lie on my back and place the soles of my feet together.

I then breathe in for 4 counts and out for 4 counts for 10 minutes focusing on nothing, but my breath.

I find if I start my day like this, I begin in a relaxed state of mind, which increases the prospect of a positive day.

The alternative is to jump up out of bed, rush in the shower, grab a coffee, wolf it down, quickly brush your teeth, run for the bus, tube or train, jump in your car and rush to work, glancing nervously at your watch, worrying am I going to get there in time?

Does this sound familiar to you? The slightest mishap is ready to send you over the edge.

Do you think you have really set yourself up properly to give yourself the best chance of having a perfect day?

Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps.
