Windows Help  -

I've been trying to figure out how to Compile to a 2 column layout in Scrivener 1.9 for windows. I saw something about choosing RTF when I compile, but I'm not seeing any options for multiple columns when I change the compile options. Can anyone tell me if compiling to two column layout is supported in 1.9 for windows? And if so, where I might find the option for it?

It is possible to include graphics in a Scrivener document but Scrivener is not a graphics editor. Likewise, Scrivener is not a page layout program — And I hope that it never will be, because then the focus of the program would no longer be as useful for a writer.

Feature Suggestion  -

Is there a way to have Sticky Tags, tags that get appended automatically when you log until you say otherwise. This would be good for locations, and sessions so that every log entry automatically gets tagged with them and you don't have to type it every time.

Or, maybe I'm missing something, but I would like to know each and every thing that happened at a particular location, otherwise when I search for a location the only thing I'd get is instances where I specifically typed it in.

It is not on the public roadmap (yet), so keep your ideas coming! :-)

Has anyone use the Grim World (http://www.boldlygames.com/grimworld/) supplement book for Fate in any games. Just looking for any input on value for a strictly fate/fae game.

I have it but haven't used it yet. It includes stats for FATE and Dungeon World.

I'm running a Fate Freeport game and the last game we had a few of the newer players trying to always use their highest skill. I was OK mitigating that, but the table did essentially fall into a group decision that you could use Strength to defend against attacks via a weapon on weapon or shield on weapon type of block. I was having a hard time with that only because the Armor wearing folks can now use their armor AND their strength to mitigate damage which makes them very tanky. I'm considering saying Dexterity is the the only defense skill for combat (sans some very good case for something else, i.e. grappling with Str is OK) when someone attacks you - use your armor if you can't get out of the way fast enough (which is really the point of it)

Additionally, does anyone have thoughts on how to handle it when someone says "I'm just going to take the hit" and use my Constitution to defend. Is that even viable? I was just trying to decide how to handle it when someone decides to do this. Thoughts?

+Dorian Knight The Fate Freeport Companion is really good IMO. I've taken my D&D players and converted them over to Fate and this book has enough D&D flavor to help them make the transition a little easier. The spells and such are decent attempt at being crunchy, but still give the freedom to go more Fate once a player gets comfortable with the system. The conversion tool from D&D stats to Fate is so straightforward that I actually use my 5E Monster Manual when I play and convert creatures on the fly - it's easy as pie.

Actual Plays  -

Discovered that Taver-Keeper.com is a really good tool for solo play. Here's my second solo rpg session (rpgsolo.com was the first session.)  Using #FateAccelerated  as my primary system.

https://www.tavern-keeper.com/roleplay/1863

The tools for rpgsolo.com are awesome, but the ability to record your
play sessions is limited - and CTRL-Z ate some of my text a few times until I learned to just not use it. Now if I could just export my Tavern-Keeper roleplays into one set of text for post-editing into a longer story that would be awesome.

+Malcolm Iggleden That's an interesting app. Not sure it meets my needs though. I do like all the tagging you can do, but there was no dice roller. I just doesn't quite do it for me.

Board Games  -

Just self published my first board game, called Euangelion, at thegamecrafter.com. I'm pretty excited!  More details about the game here http://www.darktierstudios.com/games/euangelion

FYI, for those looking to do any self publishing, or even a prototype, I very highly recommend thegamecrafter.com!

+Neil Robinson You play co-op as disciples of Christ in the 1st Century AD trying to evangelize the ancient Mediterranean world. The goal is to take over a number of regions by controlling all the cities in that region. You do this by rolling dice based on the current level of influence in the city. (Similar to risk, mechanically)

Players can take 3 actions per turn and have a character card with a special ability (similar to Pandemic or Forbidden Island)

There are Global and Local event decks that hurt/help you along the way.

You lose if the world influence controls X number of cities before the players control Y number of regions. Y is variable based on game difficulty set by the players, and X is variable based on the number of players.

There is a free print and play version along with a PDF rulebook at the link above you want to peruse.
