it's obvious the Apple Watch is a much more refined product, it's amazing that they didn't give you the option to always send notifications. I was almost sure that I wanted an Apple Watch to go with my iPhone 6, until i saw the Pebble Time. I do in fact, keep going back and forth between iOS and Android, so it's of great interest of me to find a smartwatch solution that allows me to walk between these two OS's year after year, without shelling out the price of an iPad every-time I want to switch or upgrade. My last phone was a One+One. Pebble time makes more sense for me, because I can flirt between these two mobile operating systems, and still have a watch that is functional when i jump to the Android system - which I may just do with this new Project Fi coming around the horizon. 

Some of the questions I have for you +AskUncleDave is how locked down do you feel on the iOS version of the Pebble Time App? is it even worth it to be on iOS with this device? Also: what kind of Apps are on the iOS Pebble App and how functional are they when used with an iPhone? Will the Pebble Time work with my Chromebook Pixel 64GB Verizon LTE 1st Edition, when I've got it paired with my iPhone 6, or do you have to pick one OS or another - OR is the CB Pixel just not going to get info to the Pebble Time? Will my iPad be able to sync with the Pebble Time?

I just purchased a Pebble Time for Pre-Order through +Best Buy and i'm excited for its arrival, but I don't want to buy a device i'm not going to be happy with when perhaps the Apple Watch is the device that will shut me the eff up. I'm thinking the Pebble Time is a cool, and less expensive solution for what I need. I already wear a Jawbone Up24, and I'm hoping that the Pebble Time has all the functionality that this product has, and also delivers me more in terms of time, weather, day of the week, calendar and notifications. 

Things I don't need from my watch because, well because - MY PHONE DOES THIS and it's sitting in my pocket, or wresting on the desk not too far away: 

1. send sms
2. respond to email
3. listen to my voice and do something 1/6th of the time it was asked (Siri)
4. manage my contacts
5. manage or play my music
6. let me get into apps to input all kinds of data
7. write notes
8. Facetime or Hangout
9. Take a picture
10, Read the news

What I could do without that a lot of people feel is necessary, and that even i would probably enjoy, but know myself enough to know i wouldn't use it all that much:

1. heart monitor
2. Apple TV remote
3. Wallet
4. Force Touch
5. Siri

I gotta tell you, +AskUncleDave, I like your Pebble Time videos. It makes me think I picked the right smartwatch. Thank you for taking the Time to go through all the lil intricacies of the push notifications and the pairing.

+Stephen Ornelas It is not about camera, it is about operator. If you have blown that situation, it is either by serious mistake or for artistic reasons. Every high-end camera there can capture that situation perfectly with highlights and shadows correctly exposed in the camera without profiling.

Beware, it's click or ticket month, and Irvine PD is lighting it up. Get to 200 and they get a set of steak knives.

The irony of getting a seatbelt ticket because it's unsafe for THE DRIVER from a man on a motorcycle is infuriating.

Who are you protecting? Who are you serving?

And then the audacity of him announcing he's basically fulfilling his quota by saying: it's click it or ticket month, so you don't get a warning, you get a monitory penalty as a reminder.

I saw two more people pulled over by two other motorcycle cops on my way back to the office.

I did read the article. I know people who would be the audience of this article, and don't who would refute each point on their own terms.

Feminism isn't just some sort of "theory" that has to be developed by a scholar. It's a political belief. I'm basing my thesis, which is that feminism is a label given to a wide set of views, on personal experience and people that I know.

It's like any other political belief: nuanced and dependent on the person's individual experiences that shape their ideas. My original comment was meant to say though the article had valid points, it wasn't an argument against feminism as a whole.

People are funny. Dog Apple all you want, the video on the iPhone 6 is sharper, more refined. The shooter on the iPhone 6 is better, more refined. I will concede that the audio on the Lumia 930 is better, but we knew it would be . . . it's got 4 mics! The problem with the Lumia 930 is that it isn't running iOS 8 or Android Lollipop . . . it's running Windows Phone 8.01. Maybe if i had to have a Surface, i'd get this phone so that they could be friends.

Good luck with Cortana getting you to that All you can eat Chinese restaurant you are looking for. Siri is getting much better; I use it much more than i used to use Google Now. Apple Maps is much better now.

dog apple really.  I loved apple and loved siri on the phones but now I have the lumia 930 I can say these things.  Lumia has a much beter camera, Lumia runs buter smooth like iPhone 6, Lumia can go 10 hours solid game play 10-12 video playing 2 days normal battery use.  A much simpler and intuitive os. The lumia had a solid quality feel to the case, the iPhone 6 doesn't.  We have gestures that can put on speakerphone just by placing it on table.  Lumia is wireless charging which I love.  Live tiles with way more info than apple and finally a much beter voice assistant.  Sirr I love you but you need a serious update now.   Oh wait I don't have tom tom in win store :( don't mater I have free maps and sat nav with drive all this at nearly half the price, what can I say except, bye bye apple, IPhone problems are a) a cheap ass feel on a aluminum phone, 16gig storage on the cheap model compared to 32 on the lumia 930, oh and ios 8 which is what made me leave apple in the first place lol.  Im not a fan of android and I have only used kit kat.  I would easily take kit kat over ios8.  Thk god I don't have to, windows 8.1 is new its refreshingly different, its also very smooth intuitive and in my opinion years ahead of the competition, and with what I here about win phone 10 its about to go way past other phones particularly iPhone 6,s.  Hey sir, wait you don't have that ability yet? shame google and Cortina have it. yeh if your impression of cortana is all you can eat Chinese then you so haven't even used it really have you.  first google now is aa little beter than sirri from a what info it shows point of view, though sirri is integrated beter, cortana is pure integration like sirri but does 2 things sir doesn't, it has a notebook that remembers and checks things it can remind you about, without prompting.  you can have reminders when someone calls you.  More importantly, when I was a iPhone used 3-4months ago I coulnd leave iPhone cause of sirri she was ace and I was some one that loved using my voice assistant but she always had floors, the biggest being that outside with a normal signal or 3g she was very hit and miss to work, so much so that I taught myself to use here only around wifi.  cortana doesn't seem to have that restriction, I use Cortina every where and mostly shell work.  And ive used sirri a lot but outside I stopped using her. Id say sir was like 20 % usable and cortana is 70% usable outside, that's a huge difference.  So from cortana im getting a more advanced feature set, She can do more in more places and still you think siri is beter.  Your either not done any research with cortana, or your lying about it because you want apple to look beter than it actually is.  Either way its not 2008 so now apple has competition, no longer are they the only choice in smart phone, a lesson that is soon to be leant.  The truth is outm there and any unbiased trying people know that your lieing .  I do however wish I had apples finger print scanner that is awesome.

I think WhittierCyclery sabotaged my bike. I took it in a lil while ago to fix the spokes issue, & it got worse. This place used to have some pretty cool people running it. But it has been sold and management has changed. The name has switched several times. It's gone down hill. Now it appears they just are taking it out on the customers. My Dad who also bikes heavily used to recommend this place to people, but we both have stopped going here. Beware. It's too bad, because they carry some nice Trek bicycles.

Right (Aug. 2013) now they are working on the "wet area" (aka: the pool & jacuzzi) , which hinders my workout routine at this location. To be fair, there is a Super Sport literally across the street at triangle square (& also one on Anton) , but the one on 19th is in it's own glass menagerie, and i'm not down with paying for the upgrade just yet. Pool ETA is 2nd week of September so ... it's this or the one on Adams, & I hate the layout of that one.

I've heard some people complain about this place, by saying that it is over-rated and overpriced. I thought that this restaurant was not only friendly, and vibrant, uplifting, but really good. Fresh cuisine done with care and love. It's also vegan, which is really hard to find. I've had Savory Kale Caesar, the Uptown Nachos and Papas Portabello. They are all wonderfully delicious in their own way.

I'm usually here for coffee, but the food is really good too! Never had a bad experience. Always a great place to go and meet up with friends, or just hang out to get away from everything else.
