Looks like the Qualtrics interface is changing. It's available to preview in the eXtension instance, and will likely be rolling out to others soon. I'll post things about the new interface as I learn them, but it may be worth checking out one of their webinars, if your instance is being upgraded(https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/rt/1175908267477928964)
Welcome to the new Qualtrics Insight Platform, our solution for helping you connect data and drive outcomes. We have a new layout and design, as well as many new features to help you simplify and streamline your workflow. Additionally, our new user interface (or “UI”) lays the foundation for an exciting new way of managing…

+Brigitte Scott will like the integrated text analysis feature that may aid qualitative evaluation. You can manually tag responses to categorize them if you like.

Satisficing

During the live session yesterday, I mentioned coming across the term satisficing as it applies to surveys. In a nutshell, it describes how a respondent might provide an answer sufficient to satisfy the survey (e.g., randomly selecting a required choice) vs. what the survey creator might deem an optimal answering strategy (i.e., thinking about the question, reading the answers, and choosing the most appropriate.)

The link below will take you to a OneNote notebook (I don't typically use it, but thought I'd try it out) with clips from various resources if you want to learn more. Some of the resources are behind paywalls, that you may have access to through your university.

Live session recording - 2/11/16
Here's the recording from today's live session. I thought we had a good discussion, and I appreciate the participation of those who could make it. Note that the video is sometimes just a black screen, if I wasn't sharing my screen at the time.

One of the videos you're asked to watch this week is the Qualtrics Advanced Survey Editing training. Let's discuss in the comments below:
Which feature is your favorite?
Which feature do you still have questions about?
How have you used any of these features?

This Qualtrics help article talks about both redirecting a user to a second survey (URL) and scrubbing personal data from survey results.
Introduction. While the default end-of-survey experience can be easily changed in Survey Options, sometimes you'll want a different experience for different participants. For instance, if a participant indicates they don't purchase your product, you might want to end the survey early and display ...

As we get started with the informal Qualtrics learning session, please take a moment to introduce (or re-introduce) yourself to the community.

As we go along, please share your surveys here to receive feedback, ask for help, tell what you've learned, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I've had a few more submissions after I sent a reminder. A couple sent me emails with questions and clarifications.John Baggott

Just wanted to make sure it was clear to folks how to use a Multi Line text entry box if that is best for the question. Below are a couple of screenshots - the first is for when you are creating a new question, the second is for when you want to change an existing one. Qualtrics University has an article on the Text Entry type: http://www.qualtrics.com/university/researchsuite/basic-building/editing-questions/question-types-guide/text-entry/

That's very cool also to see that one kind of result from a text entry  - the word frequency data can be organized into a word cloud...

Here's the recording of today's session. I'm afraid we may have gone to deep on some advanced questions, but hopefully you'll find it useful.

Who are you?  -

I'm an IT guy at the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension and part of the Network Literacy Community of Practice. While my interests tend to the technical side of things, I have an interest in education, program development, and evaluation. I  guess I tend to focus on those areas primarily where they intersect and can be facilitated by technology.

I've been using #qualtrics  for a couple of years, and have been impressed by its capabilities, while sometimes finding it complicated. In the upcoming informal learning session, I hope to learn some new things and share what I've learned about Qualtrics.

Outside of work, most of my time centers on my wife and three boys. You'll often find me coaching multiple teams, and loving every minute of it!

Fish tacos were great. Inexpensive and informal, just the way I like it.

Traveling cross country and needed rear shocks replaced. Everyone was polite, helpful, and professional. I'd highly recommend.

Can't say enough good! Our refrigerator died, and when I called Scott, he said he thought it might be under a Maytag recall. He offered to come out and put in a part temporarily until we could get the part from Maytag. Maytag said it would be seven to ten days! Luckily, Scott had the part on hand, and was able to replace it under the recall workorder. He was pleasant, professional, and helpful, and I will be recommending him to friends.

Stayed here on route to Seattle from Yellowstone. Seems like a newer facility with excellent sites and hookups. Sites are gravel, with a concrete patio and grass buffer. Some shade trees, though not fully mature yet. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry were clean and up to date. Less expensive than any KOA I've stayed at. Would definitely stay here again!
