the Obama administration is as liberal as the current idiotic left wing social experiment provincial and Federal Governments. You cant even compare Harper to Obama, they are direct opposites fundamentally! I do not care for Obama, or Notley or Trudeau, and despite my absolute disdain for the 3 of them and their policies, I will not lower myself to criticize them personally, and call them names like a schoolyard bully...

It is easy to keep taxes low when You don't do anything for anyone - like the VETERANS, women, natives, small business, youth ... PATHETIC. SInce when have Canadians been afraid to pay taxes for the social services we need and deserve! You are a corporate whore

The stakes are too high to risk giving Justin Trudeau the serious job of Prime Minister. Sign if you agree: http://cpcp.cc/tFC1GS
With your family’s financial well-being on the line, the stakes in the next election are high. So are the risks. Justin Trudeau will raise taxes and increase Canada’s debt, putting our country into long-term economic decline. His foreign policy is reckless and immature: He crudely joked about the Royal Canadian Air Force and our CF-18s, […]

I'm not offended at all. I just don't think most Americans recognize how our society works and the basic principals to which the majority of Canadians adhere: universal healthcare, environmental stewardship, a strong social safety net, respect and promotion of cultural diversity and religious freedom, etc. These are just some of the big differences, but fundamentally we believe that the country is only as strong as the weakest among us. There isn't as much of an "every man for himself" or "survival of the fittest" mentality. That's why we accept higher taxes and a system that supports individuals and society as a whole. If you look at the most successful Nations on the planet, they are the ones with the highest taxes and the most social programs. People benefit from better education, healthcare, childcare, parental leave, life-work balance, etc. These are things many Americans see as weak and lacking in competition.

If the current version of capitalism is to be seen as the best economic system to distribute wealth, why does the US suffer from one of the greatest socioeconomic divides in the world. Why is it that there are tens of millions of people without proper access to healthcare, education and upward mobility? If the current system is so great, why does it fail on most fronts?

Before you define my views as socialist, remember that pure socialism is defined by the government owning all means of production. That's not what I'm promoting, nor is it an ideal system on its own. I'm open to discussions with you, but you can't just dismiss what I'm saying by chalking it up to "opinion". Most of what I'm stating isn't my opinion - it's provable fact. You have to discuss ideas and concepts with counter arguments that are formulated logically and factually.
