When I started out on this journey I thought it would be harder than it is... I also didn't want to be a Vegan who preached about the injustices of the animal agricultural industry.... But as each day passes and each person tries to ridicule my choice while adding to the problem of animal murder.. I am becoming more and more attracted to the activist side of veganism.

After a great experience visiting Cambridge at the weekend I've experienced the complete opposite today.
Firsty I wanted to book a meal for 8 at a hungry horse in Essex as it's mother in laws birthday (and she likes it there) so contacted them to ask what is suitable on their menu. Was told they had a new menu out today and allergy advice was only available in the pub and not online yet......not ideal.

I also contacted the holiday camp we are staying at for a week in April in Skegness and got the following response... "Thank you for your response. Your catering department seem to be confused regarding cross contamination and meals prepared without meat or dairy.
It is disappointing that they cannot accommodate vegans (the fastest growing lifestyle choice in the UK) or those with an intolerance to dairy.
Unfortunately it is too late for us to cancel and disappointed we will have to self cater on our holiday.
Hopefully others with allergies or against animal cruelty will fare better in the future"

A frustrating day!

Had a drive into Cambridge today as kids needed new school shoes,so visited Stem and Glory - a Vegan restaurant. It was actually very nice going somewhere without having to think about what I can eat. Everything (including beers and wines) is suitable for Vegans.
During the day a plate is £8.50 and you can choose whatever options you want on it. Today's hot options were mushroom and kale curry, celeriac lasagne, roast potatoes, sweet potatoe pie, broccoli coated in seseme seeds and braised red cabbage. As driving I didn't get to have any drinks and I didn't sample any of the cold menu as they also offer a "lunchbox" for £5 that you fill for lunch. I'd already had a slice of vegan pizza from the market but still managed to clear my plate.
Would love to go back to sample their evening menu and beers as really enjoyed the experience.
