I have a problem I hope you might be able to help me with. At work, we have used +LogMeIn for a couple of years to access remote Windows PC's through a browser. We have a paid account with them. You may or may not be aware that LogMeIn stopped their free product this week. Since they made that change to their backend, we have been unable to access our machines from our Linux (+Ubuntu and Mint) desktops and laptops. This is frustrating, as we are in the process of migrating user machines from Windows XP to Ubuntu!
I have spoken to LogMeIn today, and they have confirmed that
a) They have made changes to their system that force people to use the LogMeIn app (Windows Only) and the 'fallback' might not work on 'unsupported' OS's
b) The do not, have never, and will never support Linux. The fact that it has worked previously was good luck on our part and (I paraphrase here) "Tough Titty".
Can anyone recommend alternatives? The requirements are:
a) Centralised Listing & access from as many as 5 users concurrently using Win, Linux or Mac
b) Doesn't need to be wed/browser based, but preferable.
c) Has sensible license fees applicable: We pay ~£200 per year for LogMeIn for as many machines and concurrent sessions as we like. Teamviewer want ~£2000 for a one-off fee for the current version (you have to pay again for any subsequent version upgrade, which seem to appear bout once a year) for a maximum of 3 concurrent sessions. This is not enough, and too much!
