When you've done all you can do for the work week, you head on over to preview the 2016 Olympics. Team USA Diving is on campus all week practicing on the #RoadToRio. It's quite relaxing actually, watching them perfect their sport. I LOVE the Olympics!

Well, this just happened. Now, my USD $$ will make a trip to London that much more affordable. I'd love to get back to Scotland, as that was an entirely enjoyable place! #Brexit #EU
Britain has voted to leave the European Union, a shock development with profound implications for markets and economies around the world.

+Stephanie Jackson . Great. I would love to stay there for a few months and study Spanish and breathe fresh air. But doesn't look like that will happen.
Hey, I wonder if Jamaica and the other countries are nervous. Cuba is very close. I think that I would visit Cuba for the first time before I would revisit Jamaica or the other islands

May is Lupus Awareness Month and this Friday, May 20 is Put on Purple for Lupus day. I ask that you would please wear something purple and send me a photo. I will be creating a collage of supporters in raising awareness in fighting this invisible disease. Although sidetracked with a broken foot this year, I do intend to create a Lupus Walk team in 2017. Thank you in advance. LOTS OF LOVE! #kNOwLUPUS   #LupusAwarenessMonth   #PutOnPurple   #SLE

Recently spent about a week in Havana, Cuba with family and friends. It was a fascinating experience. Cuba is delightful. A trip back in time, in some respects. Much of what we see of Cuba was present -- the classic cars, the Spanish architecture, monuments to the revolution, and yes, plenty of cigars! This trip introduced me to more of the culture and art of Cuba and showcased the pride and resilience of the people. I am so thankful I got to see Cuba before the mass commercialization begins, while it is still in an authentic state. I am hopeful to return and learn more of the Afro-Cuban communities on my next trip.

Ask me questions, so I can tell you all about my impressions of Cuba!

What say you? Clearly, I am posting this outside the optimal time on +Google+ :) What I do know is that it's not quite right on The Twitter. That thing never seems to slow down. Especially when people #livetweet  TV shows. At night.

Sooo...this happened. And was actually, relaxing and fun! First time handling guns. I want to learn more about gun safety and eventually become a gun owner. The staff at the range were great. I will be back to practice soon.

I was prepared to write an complaint about the dastardly service received at the hands of this post office, BUT, I was pleasantly surprised that they actually solved my problem. I called the office, the phone was answered relatively quickly, and I told them my problem and was asked to hold. When the guy returned to the phone, he explained what he had done, contacted the carrier and said the carrier would track down where the package was left. I wasn't expecting much, I mean this IS the USPS at Godby Road...but less than 1/2 hour later, she reappeared at my doorstep with my package. She was apologetic about leaving it at another address and explained to me what happened. So thank you Veronica and the guy at the post office for taking care of this before I had to get ugly about it. In other news, I asked USPS to call me back about this 2 hours ago. Even though they said it would take 15 min, I'm STILL waiting SMH.

Excellent food and service. Lost a couple stars because our table wasn't ready when we arrived at our reservation time. We received an apology but no comps even after waiting for 30 more minutes.

Drove over 45 min to get put here. Got in line, about 4pm. No smoked chicken, no greens, no potato salad, no mac n cheese balls. Hmm. Ordered fish, chicken and turkey legs, along with yams, string beans, and mac n cheese. Suprisingly good, although heavily seasoned with pepper. Wasn't crowded, thank goodness, because half the seats at the counter were broken! Service is good says my mom. I say the staff is personable and efficient. Overall good, but I live in Atlanta now, and this soul food isn't worth the drive.

It's been over 25 years since I last ate at Harold & Belles. I'd heard the place had been recently renovated so I thought to give it try a next I was in town. Went for a late lunch on. Saturday. I found it to be a very open space with lots of seating. Seems to be well-staffed, for our waits were never lengthy. Ryan is a personable, efficient waiter! He knew the menu and made good recommendations. Service was great. The fried food was fine. Nothing spectacular. Kind of pricey. Had catfish, shrimp, crab cakes and chicken wings, along with potato salad. I was not impressed with the mac and cheese however. They have only been reopened a couple months now. I would like to visit again on another trip to LA, and perhaps try the other seafood dishes next time.

I recently celebrated by birthday at Lure over brunch with my favorite friends. Lure was most accommodating and welcoming of my group. Goes without saying that the food is delicious -- everything, from the house made Hawaiian Rolls to the Calamari to the Salmon Cakes to my favorite dish, the Seared Sea Scallops! I had the Catfish biscuit this time and it did not disappoint! My other favorite thing about Lure is the punchbowl cocktails! My oh my oh my! The service is always superb, from the Valet to the the waitstaff. I am so glad I found this seafood gem in the city.
