I am asking for your support in the fight against Lupus. It has affected me since 2010, and this year I am participating in the 2017 Lupus Walk in Atlanta. Will you please join #StepsforStephanie to raise awareness? Even if you aren’t able to walk with me on April 29, I would greatly appreciate a donation of any amount. Thanks for the consideration: http://chapters.lupus.org/goto/stepsforstephanie. #kNOwLUPUS #LupusWalk2017

"Interestingly, data indicates individuals with a Bachelor's degree or higher tend to waste slightly more time during the workday." HA! This quote was from 2008. I'd LOVE to see what the trend says today. I'd posit it's even more hours spent "wasting time" because people keep their smartphones close by.

This was why I was in Washington, DC last week. Great visit with the +World Bank and the +Center for Strategic & International Studies. Our Nunn School Alumni in DC also came out and offered great advice to the students. Already looking forward to next year!
The annual DC Career Visit was held this past Thursday, March 2nd and Friday, March 3rd, and fourteen students from the Nunn School, Mechanical Engineering, City and Regional Planning, and Public Policy participated. On the first day, students were introduced to the work of the +World Bank, and heard from a panel of experts on hot topics in international development, including climate change, oceans, fisheries and environmental impacts, and resettlement issues. On Friday, the students spent the day at the +Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), where they were briefed on implications of artificial intelligence, future transnational threats, and global economic agreements. The experts and researchers, including a Nunn School Alumnus, also gave advice on working in Washington, DC and with a foreign policy think tank. Over twenty alumni attended the reception to network with the students on Friday evening and students completed informational interviews before returning to Atlanta. Our thanks to the World Bank, CSIS, GTRI and our wonderful alumni, for ensuring the students had a very rewarding trip.

Hung out with my girls and enjoyed this bright and colorful exhibit about the Talladega Murals at the High. Learned that Talladega was founded by counselors that represented the slaves of the Amistad ship. These murals done in 1939, on the centary of the Amistad revolt, were the first depiction of the story in the 20th century. #HBCU #Talladega #Amistad #HighMuseum #BlackHistoryMonth

So...I was on TV the other night! Shout out to +HBO and +VICE News for covering the increased interest in gun ownership among Black folks in this current political climate. I'm all about what?..."shootin' some shit"...and appreciate #ArmedEmpress for being an avenue for women to become more knowledgeable about this form of protection. Check it out!

He couldn't have imagined the motivation he inspired in this statement when he uttered it. We won't be silenced. #Resist.

Adding to my collection of little blue men. An afternoon at the gun range is SUCH A stress reliever! Each time I practice I learn something new. On my way to being a gun owner. #wellarmedwoman #armedempress #naaga

"“Diplomatic security, consular affairs, there’s just not a corollary that exists outside the department, and you can least afford a learning curve in these areas where issues can quickly become matters of life and death,” he said. “The muscle memory is critical. These retirements are a big loss. They leave a void. These are very difficult people to replace.”

Let's not forget there's now a hiring freeze in place. What becomes of the government?
