I really enjoyed the Photo Talk with +Stefaan Lesage
and +Antonio M. Rosario
. I had no idea what you were going to do early on so I think a better name for this kind of show is in order.
What I liked:
Detailed descriptions of what worked in the photos and what didn't and why they were so compelling. For example, Antonio choosing a painting sounded odd, but then his explanation of how he looked at the lighting in the dark and light parts of the image for inspiration in photography was fantastic.
The explanation of why +Bart Busschots
's photo was better in monochrome was very instructional, as was the explanation of why it would print well.
I also really enjoyed the discussion of Stefaan's two photos and why one worked better than the other.
What didn't work - someone had their darn Skype noises going off all through the episode! Drove me bonkers.
I so enjoyed this episode, especially in contrast to the one about photographing people. I was frustrated because you guys didn't dig in deep in the details like you did in this one. I'd really like to know how to set lighting for a portrait, and you almost
got to the detail level and then glossed over. Antonio talked about creating the light reflectors hobo style which was great...but how do you hold them at what angles? 1, 2, 3? How do you figure out what looks good? Above, probably not or shadows on the eyebrows. Below? probably not because it makes the model look ghoulish. From the side? too much shadow? too little shadow? how to figure this out?
From my perspective, this WAS good radio, even though I only had my iPhone with me to look at the photos while on my walk and listening.
