The Pros and Cons of Prenups--

Contemplating a prenuptial agreement?

We recommend creating any prenuptial agreement well in advance of your wedding date to give you and your intended time to plan and to ensure that the romance is not taken out of the big day. Each party should retain an attorney to protect his or her interests.

At Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor, we act as advocates for families throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area for both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and we have the best interests of both parties in mind while also ensuring we avoid any conflict of interest.

Have questions? Call us at (678) 971-3413 for a consultation.

When a divorce is pending, spouses begin thinking about dividing their property and assets, including bank accounts, real estate, and personal possessions. One matter that comes to mind is the protection of an inheritance. This is commonly a big worry when the inheritance includes a family heirloom or a significant amount of money.

During a divorce dispute, if your inheritance is in question for any reason, you will have to prove to the court that the inheritance was intended to be separate. That is why it is important to have an attorney who knows how to handle cases just like yours. The attorneys at Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor have the knowledge and experience to make sure your inheritance remain yours.

In addition to the State Bar’s legislative package, the team was busy tracking a variety of issues that affect lawyers in Georgia. A number of bills that affect children and families saw final passage and have been signed by the Governor.
