"In theory, the answer is simple: educate our software developers better, use more-appropriate design methods, and design for flexibility and for the long haul. Reward correct, solid, and safe systems. Punish sloppiness. In reality, that’s impossible. People reward developers who deliver software that is cheap, buggy, and first."

*/ The first master plan that I wrote 10 years ago is now in the final stages of completion. It wasn't all that complicated and basically consisted of:

"When you want to ghost someone, simply enter their number into the system. When that individual texts you, they’ll interact with a bot that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) to reply with a scripted response."
Have you ever had an encounter with someone at a bar or party who insisted on getting your phone number? Do you dread receiving the follow-up text message? Burner has created a chatbot that allows you to easily “ghost” unwanted people using one of its disposable phone numbers.

How about downloading the dream you had last night, and experiencing it then in Virtual Reality? Or let others experience it? And how about designing such dream-ko Ike experiences?
(and why it’s causing us to change our name)

From B2B to Bot2Bot, meet the new If-This-Then-That (IFTTT) paradigm for high-level programming.
By now it’s clear that bots will cause a major paradigm shift in customer service, e-commerce, and, quite frankly, all aspects of software-to-human interaction.

"After the creator’s initial onboarding, it’s then up to them to write up the conversational creative they want their bot to have. The software offers drag-and-drop tools that let creators employ text, photos, videos, audio, GIFs, emojis, quizzes, and polls."
A bot platform called Sequel today launched a way for you to build bots with personas, including ones that mimic your own personality.

"It’s really difficult for today’s assistants to handle tasks that require activating more than one agent. For example, if you ask your assistant to help you find a good place for brunch and ask it to call you a car in the same sentence, it’s not clear which agent is best suited to handling the job — the restaurant-finding agent or the car-calling agent."
Assistants are all the rage right now. Everyone seems to be working on one. People imagine them becoming the new interface to computers -- why bother with apps and searching the web when you can just ask your assistant to do it for you?

As Gerald Sussman put it, “you can’t learn what you can’t represent.” [...] Deep learning (and machine learning in general) has proven to be a powerful class of methods in AI, but substantial human involvement is required to formulate a machine learning problem and substantial skill and time to iteratively reformulate the problem until it is solvable by a machine.

Book hotel through chat? Check.
Expedia today unveiled a rather smart, rather simple little bot for Facebook Messenger. The bot is designed to do one thing and do it well: It helps travelers book hotels. What's more, the bot is extremely intuitive. As in easy-to-use. For the tech savvy, this may seem like a big "duh," but simplicity matters given that bots are still in their infancy and Expedia's customer base spans all walks of life: the company owns more than 200 travel book...

One more platform for chatbots that follow common workflows -- kind of bit-friendly IFTTT
Motion AI, a Chicago company that lets anyone easily build a bot without touching a line of code, has announced it is open to business after several months of private testing.
