Stavros Michailidis has 10 years of diverse experience in organizational development and project management consulting and leadership. He has provided strategic, financial, and operational advisement in a broad array of industries in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Michailidis brings a unique combination of analytical, quantitative, qualitative and facilitative skills, as well as extensive problem solving experience in strategy development and organizational effectiveness to his clients.
Mr. Michailidis began his professional career in project engineering, specializing in the planning and completion of large scale and technically complex projects including work on NASD’s offices, the American Stock Exchange trading floor, and the Lehman Brothers building. Mr. Michailidis has worked with many early stage businesses and not-for-profit entities to develop business plans, financial models, marketing collateral, organizational and operational structures, and fund raising. Mr. Michailidis also has experience in turnaround management and the reorganization of distressed operations. Mr. Michailidis is currently focused on organizational effectiveness through creative problem solving, and provides specialized / customized methods and tools to foster creativity, effectiveness, and innovation in people, projects and organizations.
Mr. Michailidis graduated Magna cum Laude, from Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture, earning a Bachelors of Professional Studies in Construction Management. The degree is comprised of 4 distinct concentrations in engineering, architecture, business administration, and project management.
Mr. Michailidis began his post graduate studies in the Honor’s MBA Program at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and later transferred to the International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College where he earned a Master’s of Science in Creative Studies and a graduate certificate in Creativity and Change Leadership. Mr. Michailidis’ graduate work on nurturing and sustaining Momentum for successful project implementation has received professional and academic accolades. In addition to being nominated for the title of “Most Outstanding Master’s Project” at Buffalo State College it was also recognized at the 11th European Conference on Creativity and Innovation amongst the “Best of Workshops.” Mr. Michailidis has guest lectured on this subject and on the subjects of creativity and innovation at the University of the Virgin Islands.
Mr. Michailidis co-founded and currently holds a seat on the boards of Green Apple Cleaners, a multimillion dollar “eco-friendly” dry-cleaning business, and The New York Says Thank You Foundation, a not-for-profit disaster relief organization established after September 11th 2001. These organizations have received praise and recognition from the media including Crain’s Business Journal, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, and the New York Times.
