Two steps short of practical
It would be wrong to say apps are over, but, increasingly, they are scattershot. Some are developed to solve a particular problem or create a niche, and others because business owners are being convinced that, since mobile is the next thing, not having an app is akin to not having a website. So company-specific apps are becoming the norm. They don't always have a point beyond presence.
Founders just added itself to the list of breweries with company-specific apps. It is difficult to imagine a person who has a different app for each of their favorite beers. More likely, one of the billion beer apps will rise about the rest. The one that does will have to rely pretty heavily on distributor participation, which is probably why Founders went ahead and just did one themselves.
