From Our Blog Berry Sauce for Waffles or Whatever…. - I love using fresh berries for my guest breakfast.  I am always looking for new things that might make a breakfast more tasty and just as important, look awesome when served. Raspberries were on sale this week, and looked so beautiful and vibrant red, so I bought some and decided to make a sauce with them to serve over my waffles on Sunday morning.  As you can see, the color turned out just beautiful and made the pla... http://ow.ly/2VcE9d

Edible Flowers are so fun to add to a breakfast plate. These are one of my favorites that grow in the winter, Johnny Jump Ups.

Amazing experience. The wedding was delightful, romantic, and focused on our commitment to each other. Don and Deb (owners) are world class. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was heavenly. I would give it 100 stars if I could.

If you are searching for the perfect place to elope, relax or just have a great time.....STOP now! You have just found it! My husband and I eloped here on Jan. 1st, 2015, and our expectations were exceeded. The property is secluded and beautiful. The owners, Don & Deb are amazing. They are friendly and helpful. Our ceremony was beautiful. Deb took great pictures for us to take home. The breakfast was outstanding. I can't think of a single thing that could have made our stay more enjoyable. We highly suggest to friends and family a relaxing getaway to Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast!! Steve & Judy

We saw The Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast online and instantly knew this was the place we wanted to have our wedding on September 27th, 2014. This is the date we met exactly 1 year later. All the cottages are beautiful but the Oak Cottage caught our eye. We booked it 9 months in advance and could hardly wait to get there. When we arrived it was everything we dreamed of and more!! Don & Deb Morelock are so kind and treat you like family. The entire place is paradise and so relaxing. Don married us and it was such a beautiful ceremony. Deb took so many pictures of us, we will treasure those always. Deb is also an amazing chef, the food was delicious!! We enjoyed the nature trail, hammock, outdoor hot tub and every detail of this place will forever live in our hearts. If you are looking for a place to start your lives together, renew your vows or just get away, look nowhere else. We look forward to celebrating our 1st anniversary there and many more visits.

We planned our elopement for November 24, 2014, and could not have chosen a better place to have our wedding and honeymoon than the Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast. Don and Debbie Morelock are attentive without being intrusive (because they have obviously thought of everything you could need long ago and have never stopped improving!). They have created the perfectly idyllic setting for intimate weddings. The breakfasts are as much feast for the eyes as they are for your appetite! But, the thing I will never stop talking about is how Deb intuitively created the perfect bridal bouquet for me!

Couldn't have asked for a better location for our wedding ceremony! Beautiful place with amazing hosts!!! Everything was great from the hospitality and welcomeness we felt upon first arriving, to the comfortable bed, and amazing food during breakfast. We highly recommend Star of Texas B&B if you are looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the normal city life. My wife and I are planning on going back for our first year anniversary. Thank you to Deb & Don for making us feel so special during our special weekend, y'all are GREAT!

We were quickly greeted upon arrival by a cheerful Deb and shown our room. Breakfast both mornings was beautiful and tasty. The bed was awesome, the fruit and cheese tray was wonderful, the chiminea and hot tub under the stars was perfect. Thanks for a great weekend. It was exactly what we needed to rekindle our relationship.

My husband and I eloped here on October 9, 2014 and could not have asked for a more beautiful and welcoming experience! The proprietors made everything very easy and relaxing for us. The ceremony was intimate and the vows were so very true to us. We stayed at the Oak Cottage for two evenings, enjoying the privacy and tranquility, watching the cardinals, visiting with the cats, and dining on the delicious fruit, wine and cheese tray. Our breakfast in the morning was also delicious and beyond our expectations! Our only regret is that we did not order the romantic dinner option. The next time we visit, we will definitely order it! We have discussed coming back as soon as Christmastime and for our one year anniversary. If you are seeking a place to enjoy being together away from the hustle and bustle of city life and to connect with each other, I recommend the Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast!

The hubby and I were in serious need of a getaway after recent work stress and travel. SoT was just what we needed! the property feels remote and peaceful, but is close enough to town to take advantage of great lunch and dinner options. We stayed in the Oak Cottage, and it was simply perfect. Don and Deb were both very helpful and welcoming. The bed and bedding were so comfortable, and the hot tub was awesome! We enjoyed taking in the countryside via the nature trails that they have set up around the property. Breakfast was delicious! Our first morning we were served a wonderful spread of orange infused french toast with fresh melon and rosemary scrambled eggs. Super yummy and the perfect start to our day! Deb had let me know ahead of time that they would be running off to a B&B convention and wouldn't be available to provide a full breakfast for our second and final morning. However, they comped us the amount for the full breakfast and still set us up with fresh fruit cups, juice and homemade scones. Delish, and perfect for a breakfast on the go! A total treat from start to finish. We will make plans to visit again soon.

Wedding Oak Winery, is a wonderful winery, just a short 30 minute drive for our guest to go and enjoy. We love the folks there and know that you will enjoy their beautifully restored building and great wines.

We love sending our guest here. A classic dinner, with the best Blue Cheese Hamburger ever, and I love the Fried chicken salad. Great service and fun place to go.

You will love the food and fun atmosphere at Steve's. My favorite is always the soup of the day, thick, rich and creamy with lots of spicy taste. The sandwiches are all great and huge! Go for the tea of the day as it will always refresh you. Just get there early as there is always a waiting list to eat, it's a small great little spot for a hearty lunch. Just wish they were open on the weekends for more of my guest, but those that come during the week, you don't want to miss out on this.

Common Grounds Coffeehouse, a great place to meet with friends or just hang out and read a book. The customer service is awesome, the food really good and the coffee is always fresh. Recommend the soup of the day and they also make great breakfast burritos. Check them out, great people.

Their chocolates are wonderful and worth every penny, since they are hand made of quality chocolate. Only problem is they are over an hour away, but maybe that is good for me! Please visit them.
