#TBT to 1899, when a now common term becomes a part of the American vernacular. That’s when an editorial in The New York Times made a reference to an "automobile". The term caught on, and ultimately replaced terms like ‘Quadracycle’, ‘Hippomobile’, ‘Benzene Buggy’ and of course, ‘Horseless Carriage’!

Your TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) light may come on more often during cold weather. That's because with every 10-degree drop in temperature outside, your tires lose 1 to 2 PSI of pressure. A good rule of thumb is to check your tire pressure monthly and whenever there is a big swing in the weather.

This #TBT we funnel our way back to 1941 when Charles Scanlon, an employee of the Los Angeles Streets Department searches for a way to keep vehicles away from wet street paint. He sews pieces of old tire skins together and makes the first road cone! Today, millions of road cones are used for traffic control, parking, and driver training and creative holiday decorations!

We salute the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this #TBT. It was 1909 when workers placed the final brick of the famous racetrack. Did you know, it took 3.2 million 10-pound bricks to pave “The Brickyard”? Since then, most of that brick has been buried under asphalt, but one yard remains exposed at the start-finish line. Kissing those bricks after a successful race remains a tradition among Indy drivers.
