CNN came to our sets in November...
"Star Trek: New Voyages," which is filmed on replica sets in upstate New York, is an homage to the popular 1960s TV franchise.

Hopefully with the added visibility they will see more funding, and more episodes. I'm really struggling with this extended new episode dry spell. Hehehehehe.

I remembered TAS fondly, then I checked out the DVD and rewatched them.  Then I re-remembered it was all the new Trek we had for a decade.  It's still pretty impressive what they were able to accomplish with almost no budget.

Folks may remember that after Sargon and Thalassa (while inhabiting Kirk and Dr. Anne Mulhall) share a last kiss, Nurse Chapel proclaims "It was beautiful," and the episode concludes. But as scripted, the interchange went on a little longer.

It's interesting the things that were cut or changed in the Star Trek universe.  I'm lucky enough to have found and purchased one of the original scripts from ST: The Motion Picture at an auction several decades ago.  For those that aren't aware, in the original script, Commander Decker and Ilia are both alive in the original ending, which was changed (twice) after several scripts were stolen to the ending we all know and love.

On a side note, I would love to see a future episode with Gary Seven and Isis.  Food for thought.

Kirk's Original Five Year Mission Continues
Introduction
Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II is an award-winning independent webseries that produces new episodes of Classic Star Trek. Continuing the fourth and fifth seasons of the original series, we film the untold stories of the U.S.S. Enterprise, Captain Kirk, and his crew with the intention of filling in the missing years of the original five year mission, and bridging the gap to Star Trek: The Motion Picture. We are a group of fans who have come together with a common love for the classic era Star Trek for the purpose of having fun while making new episodes. It is the goal of Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II to support and promote the CBS/Paramount Star Trek franchise by giving fans an active way to continue their interest in Classic Star Trek.
