Fans just voted for the top 100 semi-finalists from more than 35,000 entries, and voting is open for the top 5 until July 24.
Stackla is the creation of Damien Mahoney and Peter Cassidy, both ex-sports media types and owners of Pillar Sports, a Sydney-based digital agency.
Their clients’ unquenchable thirst for content and social media led the pair to experiment with the concept of ‘crowd-sourcing’ event coverage – making the old content consumers the new content creators.
Their philosophy is simple: aggregation over re-creation. It’s a philosophy which, they are fast realising, has just as much relevance outside the sports vertical.
