Been a busy week...working on my Connection series of earrings...based on the safety pin connector...sometimes playing it safe results in just being alive, but not having a life. A fine line to walk, that's for sure! I am photographing these on an 18% gray piece of cardboard I got from a photography shop. I think they use it for light balance, but it makes for a nice background to show off silver. Photographing jewelry is difficult, but one challenge I really like. These are available on my site at www.stacieflorer.com .
These are some new earrings I made last week. Still continuing my exploration of the 'short leg' pinned series that has captured my imagination. The X's and O's with the blue African glass beads were the first iteration, and from there I went on to the dangles. I was inspired by the movie, Frida...her artwork was amazing, but her personal style captivated me.
Thumb rings today...I think the average size for female thumb rings is about 9.5...anybody know of any thing different than that? I have been wearing these stacked on my thumb and have been surprised at how comfortable they are...hope everyone had a great Monday!
I took this photo of the Imperial Moth today...a few days ago I saw, for the first time, a Hummingbird Moth, which has to be one of the coolest moths I have ever seen. I can see where people thought they looked like little Fairies back in the day...anyway. This guy or gal was a real beauty, it's just too bad they can't eat and die so soon after transitioning. Spawn till you die, baby...(saying off an old t-shirt I bought in Alaska years ago)
I'm Stacie and I am the designer, instructor, photographer and writer on my website at www.stacieflorer.com. I believe creativity is our natural way of being, and here you will find my thoughts and explorations into co-creative living with Spirit. Our outer environment can give us clues about our inner landscape. And vice versa!
I am not a nagger. My husband really appreciates this...
