I'm going to start incorporating these and create a new/old fad!

From the article:

PODSNAPPERY
This term describes a person with a “wilful determination to ignore the objectionable or inconvenient, at the same time assuming airs of superior virtue and noble resignation.” Dickens frequently used this now seemingly forgotten term.

I wonder if there's a link between "skilamalink" (article: "secretive, shady or doubtful") and "skidamarink" (children's song) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skidamarink

+Eric James Soltys, +Nicole Soltys, they are headed your way. Several bands flew by in perevt silence, we had to scramble to catch the scene, first time we've seen them do the canyon flyover!

Great article:

"Your excuses are simply the roadmap that takes you from “here” to “there”. Good luck on your travels."
I didn't have any money so couldn't start a business. And even if I started one, I didn't have an office, or clients, and I was too shy to cold-call clients. I didn't have connections or rich parents or anything for that matter. I didn't have talent. I just got lucky. Nobody will hire me.

The new and the old technology at the Texas Talking Book Program Studio. That reel-to-reel antique found its way into our booth this week. Ah, the memories!

Very Nice

Each of the woodcut images seem simultaneously familiar and strange. It is easy to imagine them as a lost esoteric version of the Marseilles deck from the 15th century. But then there is a disconcerting modernity to them, a graphic frankness mixed with a transgressive sense of humor.
Cards of U'ut by Ellis Nadler The Cards of U'ut are 37 beautiful and subtle woodcut Tarot interpretations of by Ellis Nadler. You can see all of the cards here: http://www.ellisnadler.com/cards-of-wu/ However, there is als...

Howdy all, I have been out and about on other networks. But I still see the posts! The canyon is also still here, just to let you all know.

Evocative photographs!   I worked as a pin setter in a bowling alley when I was in middle school for 50ç an hour - there were pits behind each alley which we dropped into to retrieve the balls and pins.

What is it they say? If you don't like the weather in Texas, just give it a few minutes. Thunderstorm blew through on about 10 minutes, leaving us with rain, sunset and a faint rainbow!

I was once in Dallas years back and we found every day at about 4 pm, the sky would go from blue and sunny to dark and stormy, and some of the worst lightning storms I'd ever seen in all directions. An hour later, back to blue. Freaky. The locals didn't even pay attention..

Our hometown boy does good....again. This was such a great day for us.
Chip Woolley had apprehensions. The Dalhart-born horse trainer has dealt with nerves before, naturally, particularly when a horse he trained came out of nowhere and won the Kentucky Derby in 2009.

Introduction
I'm a Texan born and raised, and very proud of it. I spend my time wondering why the world works like it does, and why people do what they do. And I play pool, read a lot, narrate books on tape for the blind and physically handicapped and watch a lot of sports - especially American football.

I post a lot of articles about urban decay, videos of 80s hairbands and images of a rather macabre nature, plus information I just find interesting. So stop by and say hello - it's nice to meet you.
