Out of the multiple times I have visited, I have never had fun. Slots are tight and just took entire funds within short amount of time without any occasional win. When I go to other Casinos I may walk out a loser or a winner but at least get to play for quite a few hours either way. Turtle Lake it is gone. On positive note, turtle lake does have a craps table which the next three closest casinos do not. Craps does have one of the highest house edges, but do occasionally like to play. Have had fun the 2 tines I played Craps at turtle lake. Recommendation: go to Turtle Lake for Craps and buffet (which is pretty good), not for the slots. For slots and Super 5 card draw, got to Treasure Island Resort and Casino. Amazing buffet as well

Horrible experience! I recieved a $20 gift credit card as a present. One night i decided to take my son to dinner at the buffet in the St. Croix Casino in Turtle Lake. We were at the register and my card was declined. The cashier kept running the card trying to get it to work. The total for dinner was just over $18.00. I was so embarressed. We left the restaurant and I called the card service number. Apparently the credit machine service company charges an additional $3.00 for use of a credit catd until the funds are approved. There is suppose to be a sign notifying customers of this. In addition to this, I was charged fees for insufficient funds by the Casino. I return to tell them this. I get called a liar by the cashiers, then they call security. I had no clue why. I was extemely polite. Then they call down a third party and this person takes my information and phone number. By this time i am absolutely humiliated. I never recieved an apology or a reimbursement for the repeated charges on the card from the cashier repeatedly attempting to run it. I will never return!

We had a couple hours to kill before a graduation. We had fun and left a few dollars ahead. The machines were having issues with tickets. One machine would print a ticket and the next machine would not accept it. Then half the ticket redemption machines didn't work.

Bloody Mary was a great price but had no flavor. Shrimp cocktail was a fantastic price and by far the best purchase of the day. I never judge slots because either you are lucky or you aren't. Out of four people, two made a profit and two did not. Buffet was horrible!! Mashed potatoes from a box! Plates were dirty and the staff member was the one to point at it in the pile and say to me...that one is dirty, I would take that one...ummm...you were standing right there. Maybe you should have taken it off the stack when you saw that it was dirty. Gravy was mis-labeled...turkey was beef and beef was turkey. There were no labels and no one could tell us if it was French or Western dressing.

This is a pretty weak casino, compared to every other one I've attended... Hate to say that but unfortunately Turtle Lake just doesn't size up or really even compete in any area with other regional casinos. I'll explain why: First, we went on the day prior to mother's day, myself, my mother, and my grandmother, as some other plans we had in the area fell through. We were going to have the buffet, which normally I'd consider an extremely safe bet at a casino, however the buffet here was hot garbage. Literally. I mean, i don't normally have prime rib but do know what it should look and taste like and let me tell you, the prime rib at the buffet at Turtle Lake was abhorrent. Grey, gross, flavor terrible... And everything else i encountered at this very limited buffet was excremental, in my most humble culinary assessment. Nearly inedible. So, out to the casino floor for a little gaming. As i sauntered through the pitiful arrangement of games, table games, and slot machines, i noticed a grand total of approximately 8 table games to choose from, 1 or at most 2 of which were blackjack tables. I don't know about anyone else but i have been under the impression that blackjack is pretty much a staple casino game, at least in the Midwest. But no, not here... There was a solitary $25 minimum blackjack table with, of course, a Shufflemaster and probably 8 or 10 decks of cards and there was a single $10 table full of players. That's it. The slots, while consisting of many single penny slot games (which is always cool - in the Twin Cities area most casinos try to really limit that low a play. So that is to Turtle Lake's credit. BUT... and it's a huge but... NOBODY and i mean NOBODY seemed to hit a thing, last of all my party. So my assessment for this casino's slot machine payouts is that they are dismal, tighter than an old woman's facelift. No bueno. Finally, the exterior (i know, seems knitpicky but still, has to be brought up...) of the casino building is drab and unsightly. It honestly looks like some storage facility at best, a slaughterhouse or seedy peep show building with no signage at worst, a casino though? If i didn't already know the place and if there were no signs or indications that it is a casino, nobody would ever know the difference. So in summation, i do not, repeat DO NOT recommend Turtle Lake to anyone at any time for any reason. Bottom line. Bad food, bad gaming situation, bad everything. Everything? Everything. Period. Done.

We went for my birthday to eat there, and Gamble a little. The buffet people we're very nice. The selection was just OK. What they did have tasted decent. It was reasonably priced, but could have had a bigger selection. When we go again, we'll probably eat somewhere else until the selection expands. The casino was pretty nice, kind of bummed that There was smoking everywhere. May have stayed in casino longer if there was some division with a nonsmoking area. OK selection of games. I will certainly go back.

I went to the casino at turtle lake and it was a great evening. It was Tuesday and it was bogo buffets so it cost me and my friends 5 bucks total to eat there. It was seriously a great deal. I enjoyed the wait staff.
