After a short time with the XD-S 4.0", you’ll find yourself amazed at how enjoyable it is to shoot a pistol that’s so small and so powerful.

In fact, you might end up spending more time at the range than you planned. http://hubs.ly/H04tMpJ0

Aggressive mega-lock frame texturing and major grasp slide serrations keep the XD(M) in your hand and operational under any conditions.

It was about a decade ago that the Armory reminded the world that American innovation is alive and well.

The SOCOM 16 was a reimagining of the legendary M1A that brought an unparalleled combination of power and maneuverability to the close-quarters battle rifle market.

Safety is crucial, that is why our XD series comes standard with the striker status indicator, loaded chamber indicator, grip-safety, internal firing pin block, and the Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) Action Trigger System. http://hubs.ly/H04c3X70

I was treated superbly with regard to the recent XDS upgrade. Extremely professional, courteous, and completed the upgrade much quicker than expected. They even let me drop off and pick up the pistol at their facility. It was returned with a complimentary 7 round magazine with both size X-Tension sleeves (for each of the 2 available backstraps) and a note from Co-Chairman Dennis Reese explaining that the extended mag was a token of gratitude for our patience. Fantastic people running a fantastic company.

For those that are wondering. Most of Springfield's 1911 frames are made in Brazil, and the entire XD line is made in Croatia. If you can find a Springfield with the serial number prefix of NM, you have one of the few Springfield 1911's that are made in America. Springfield sells fine pistols, so I wouldn't get too hung up on that. Springfield Amory Inc. is not the same famous arsenal in Springfield, Massachusetts called "Springfield Armory." The original famous Springfield Armory closed in 1968. After the Armory closed, a man named Elmer C. Balance registered the trademark of "Springfield Armory" to be used by his company to make the M1A rifle, a M14 clone for civilians. Their is no connection between the original Springfield Armory and the newly formed company that adopted its name. Sometimes Springfield Armory Inc. likes to refer to the old Armory to bring back some nostalgia for marketing purposes, but they are not the original Springfield Armory.

I purchased a new XDM in October 2014 under Springfield's "Gear up- 2 free mags promotion". Before making the purchase, I verified per their marketing materials that magazines are shipped with legal capacities according to my local laws. Not having received the magazines 6 weeks later, I followed up with customer service twice before receiving an unapologetic response saying they don't have any and are unwilling to cap them according to my local laws. After several emails back and forth, there has been no offer to cap the magazines they have, ship the high cap magazines to a local dealer or anything really. While I have been happy with the firearm to date, starting off with the full accessories kit including the 2 extra magazines was a large part of the purchasing decision. Between the misleading/false advertizing and lack of customer service, I am hoping Springfield's sloppy business is not indicative of poor manufacturing. I do not trust companies that lie to and trick their clients. There are enough other good firearm companies out there that you don't need to waste your money here.
