Can a hotel be held liable for slip and fall injuries - Thousands of people visit and vacation in Florida every year. That being the case, the state’s hotel industry is thriving with plenty of guests staying for days or even weeks at a time. With all those people in one building, it should not be surprising that accidents may happen on the premises. http://www.spiveylaw.com/blog/can-a-hotel-be-held-liable-for-slip-and-fall-injuries/

“Textalyzer” bill under consideration in New York - A new word is being coined. The word is “textalyzer.” ABC News reported that in New York there is a proposed state law that would allow police to use a device called a “textalyzer” to reveal whether a driver was texting at the time of a crash. Should the bill become law in New York, the police  responding to a crash would have the power to ask the drivers to turn over their cell phones. http://www.spiveylaw.com/blog/textalyzer-bill-under-consideration-in-new-york/

Tips for safe RV/motorhome travel -  Whenever driving on Florida’s roads, inevitably you will be either sharing the road with RV/motorhomes or driving an RV/motorhome. These vehicles may be traveling with attached trailers hauling other vehicles or belongings. They are very popular with about 35 million or 8.5 percent of U.S. households owning them, according to RVIA (Recreational Vehicle Industry Association). http://www.spiveylaw.com/blog/tips-for-safe-rv-motorhome-travel/

Brain and Head Injuries Caused by Sports - In recent years, more light has been shed on the issue of head and brain injuries stemming from sports. The conversation was particularly re-ignited after the release of the movie Concussion.  While it is true that many people know about the possibilities of sustaining serious injuries while playing a sport, some may not appreciate the serious nature of those injuries, especially when the injury occurs to a player’s head and/or brain. http://www.spiveylaw.com/blog/brain-and-head-injuries-caused-by-sports/

Reduce the risks of senior driving accidents and injuries - Even though older drivers most often are the safest drivers because they are more likely to wear seatbelts and less likely to speed or drink and drive, they are more likely, if involved in an accident, to suffer serious injuries and be killed. By the time a senior driver reaches his or her 70s, according to the Minnesota Times Standard, the risk typically starts to increase because of a decline in reflexes, alertness and other factors. http://www.spiveylaw.com/blog/reducing-the-risks-of-senior-driving-accidents-and-injuries/
