I did a lot of research and work at the Von Braun Center in UAH! Ahh nostalgic times. There were models of all the rockets leading up to the Atlas V and a picture of him right behind all of the models. Spent time contemplating my work in front of those models many times.

Our Germans are better than their Germans.

Now that is how you name a baby!

Werner von Braun and co where a mix bag for the nascent U.S space effort. I've often wonder what our space systems would have been like today if we had believed in the X-15 concepts. By the early '60s, the X-15 achieved 65 miles in altitude and over 4000 mph. And this with only '50s and '60's technology. The concepts were lead by another German Nazi Dornberger.

Come on SpaceX, make his wet lab idea a reality. Can't recover the stage on land? Reuse in space

+Robin Knight Very true and he didn't care who he worked for either. If Germany had developed the A-bomb first, he would have been one of the most hated men in history.

Braun зробив свою справу. Він зробив свою роботу, як і будь-який професіонал. Запущений Америки на Місяць. Що ще потребує звичайної людини. Крила ангела і святим ореолом над головою, щоб задовольнити всіх?

Elon Musk should be ashamed of himself.Von Braun was not only a Nazi party member, he also joined the SS, and rose from a lieutenant to t high rank of major. Not only was the V2 responsible for several thousand civilian deaths in London, Paris, Antwerp Brussels, countless thousands more were left injured, homeless and traumatized by the rockets landing on their homes or workplaces with absolutely no warning. Until the atomic bomb, the V2 was considered the most lethal weapon ever created and used by mankind. Aside from the countless lives lost and or damaged by the rockets beieng launched upon the allied nations, far more perished actually producing them in the HORRIFIC conditions at Nordhausen & Dora slave 'camps' and in Mittlewerk underground factories (OVER 20,000 MINIMUM). Several holocaust survivors testified that von Braun actually ordered the deaths of several prisoners. His weapons also gave Hitler and the rest of his evil cohorts extended hope and motivation to continue with their atrocities, not to mention tying up countless Allied resources and personnel to combat the V2 weapons program. Joe Kennedy Jr., JFK's older brother died while attempting to bomb one such site in France. If you attempt or even assist someone in killing even one person under U.S. law in every state of the union, you are culpable, yet here a MASS MURDERING NAZI WAR CRIMINAL is paraded here as as a national hero. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND DEPLORABLE!!!!! Regardless of any so called accomplishments, there is no excuse to honor a SERIAL KILLER, by any standard of the term.
