The All American Grill of Southport was built on a dream – a red, white and blue patriotic dream. The All American Grill owners Ron & Lois Thompson and Jacques & Beverly Hermenier are making their dream a reality – their dreams of a restaurant where quality fresh food meets the red, white and blue of their patriotic and community spirit. There is no reheating of pre-cooked food at The All American Grill, only quality food cooked to order. Jacques’ 45 years in the restaurant business and Ron’s vision combined with the southern hospitality infused in with their wives Beverly and Lois make The All American Grill a must stop when in Southport. Located at 505 N. Howe Street in Southport. Open Tuesday– Friday 11am-3pm and Saturday from 11am-5pm. Read more about their story in the Southport Magazine

On Wednesday, September 28th , Sheila Hanby, DVM, staff, elected officials, clients, friends and members of the North Brunswick and Southport-Oak Island Area chambers of commerce celebrated the Grand Opening of Capeside Animal Hospital’s new 8,400 square foot state of the art facility. Capeside Animal Hospital is now located at 58 Waterford Business Center Way, Belville. The new hospital doubled in size overall and tripled the size of the boarding facility with a covered outdoor play area that dogs enjoy three times a day. There are separate cat and dog entrances and exam rooms to reduce stress on the pets. To further reduce stress, species specific music is played in boarding exam rooms and feline pheromones are used in the cat boarding and canine pheromones used in dog boarding areas.

Capeside Animal Hospital has three doctors of veterinary medicine and a full complement of qualified staff “looking out for the well-being of your pet”. They are open every day of the week - Monday-Saturday from 7:30-6PM, Sunday from 1:00pm-6:00pm. For more information visit their website: www.capesideanimalhospital.com

The September Coffee with the Girls was hypnotic at the Comfort Suites in Southport! Our speaker Kathryn Lawler, RNC, BSN, MSN, MA Human Development, Ph.D. Ms. Lawler combines the physical and psychological aspects associated with problems amenable to Hypnosis. No, we did not cluck like chickens, nor did she mesmerize us with the old watch on a chain (although she did have one as a prop). She explained that hypnosis is a means of creating a state of expanded awareness, blocking out sources of distractions – like meditation but with positive suggestions. The next Coffee with the Girls will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 8am in the Comfort Suites. If you are a woman in business and would like to feel the support of other businesswomen, please join us. It is free for our Chamber members. Non-members are invited to attend two Chamber events prior to being required to join the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce.
