Loosing a dog is always hard on the human members of the family even though they know exactly what is happening and often need to take part in the event. Just think how hard it can be on the canine members of the family when, all of a sudden, one of them just goes away and never comes back. This will greatly confuse them and can lead to anxiety, bad behavior, and even worse.

It is important that you prepare the canine members of your family for the departure of a sick or old dog in a way that they can understand and is natural to them. Please read our article to find out more.

The first step in training a dog is to train yourself and the rest of your family. Your dog will feed of your adrenaline and crazy actions. He is also constantly watching to see how you are interacting with the rest of the family. Is there any form of leadership? Is there focus? Is there respect? If you and your family are crazy and there are no rules in the family, how could you ever convince your dog that you should be their leader and the one who will always be keeping them safe?

It is important that you keep your dog safe, where ever you are at all times. We often forget that our dog may be a little afraid of other dogs when they get too close. When we are out on a walk, that is not a big deal because we can easily turn away and go in another direction. If we are in an elevator, we can't easily turn away if another dog gets in the elevator and the doors close. We have some simple tips to keep your dog safe and calm when these things happen. Please take a look for more information.

It is just about time for our kids to go back to school after the summer break and the parents can't wait. The problem is that our dog doesn't have any idea what is happening. For the last several months all he had been experiencing were people around him all the time and always having something to do. With the kids back in school and you at work, he will be left all alone. He will have no idea what just happened. This can easily lead to bad behavior and even separation anxiety. We have a great article that explains what you can do now to make sure that this will not happen.

The only time Robin and I make our rules for the client is to maintain an environment to keep them and their dog safe. One of the few rules that we want our client to obey is to never use an extension leash when they are walking their dog. This creates an unsafe environment for the dog, the dog walker, and everyone near them. It also sends the wrong message to the dog. Please take a look at our dog training article to learn more.

Remember when our parents always told us to "Use our words"? Well, that works great for humans. It does not work great for dogs. Dogs don't understand words, they understand sounds. The difference between a sound and a word is that a sound has only one meaning and a word can mean many things.

That is why when you communicate with your dog, you must use sounds that only mean one thing. This means "one thing in the entire world". Please check out our dog training article to learn more.
