If this leads to an American return to smaller government — hey, we can't trust anybody anyway, so let's stop handing them power — this new paranoia might be acceptable. But it won't. Instead, Americans seem bound and determined to hand power to those on each side who are most apt to identify the nefarious intentions of those on the other side, with or without evidence. That's a recipe for not only polarization but also political breakdown.

We encourage Wisconsin residents to speak out. This isn’t just about butter. Governments naturally gravitate towards more control and influence. If they can determine what types of butter their residents can buy and sell, what’s next?

Here’s my unsympathetic take on voter ID laws. The requirements and cost are minimal. Some states make it so easy you can practically order a voter ID on DoorDash. If you’re incapable of securing appropriate identification, I don’t trust your discernment when it comes to selecting the political leaders making decisions on my behalf. I know. I’m a cold son of a gun.

In Saudi Arabia, women are not permitted to drive. They are subject to a national dress code and cannot wear clothes or makeup that "show off their beauty."

And apparently, they can't even be featured in a council about their own gender.

Pathetic.

Obamacarelite will not fix the economy nor will it impact the healthcare system. I would prefer to see the GOP repeal Obamacare and leave it at that, but I understand that most in DC are unwilling to take that risk. It it must be replaced, then have Congress put together a plan that pulls the federal government out of healthcare over time. That should be the end goal: an insurance and healthcare systems that are free of government interference. Most of the safety nets are already in place for the most needy. If a few more are added while the vast majority of the healthcare industry is left to the private sector, we can have the best possible situation in a very short period of time.

The content of Trump’s speech was a mixed bag, but typical of big-government progressive ideology. We’ve been living under that ideology for the past eight years, and Trump’s version is enough like Obama’s to earn his Seal of Approval.

But hey, at least he’s not Hillary . . . not yet.

The memory of Benghazi and the politically inspired lies told about it never ceased to outrage Republicans. But it proved to be a major distraction for them as they spent Obama’s second term focusing on an issue that would never yield anything that could derail either Obama or Clinton. If Democrats spend the next four years making the same mistake about Trump and Russia, they it may divert the public from Trump’s shortcomings and do their own cause little good.
